Present time
I woke up with a jump.
"Leah are you ok?" August asked.
"Where is that other author?" I asked.
"He ran and your parents and Emma went after him," August said.
"We have to find them and tell them the truth. And if that author gets the quill before I do, the happy ending they get will leave everyone else in ruins," I said.
"Leah, I know. The apprentice told me all about it before he took our memoirs away. Your sister just made the biggest mistake of her life letting that author escape."
"They think this is the only way for them to get a happy ending but it isn't. If Isiah writes those stories he will write them in the way that makes the best stories not looking for everyone involved."
"But how do you even know that they can be written correctly? Without hurting the heroes."
"When you would fall asleep before me on the nights that I was the author I had some extra time on my hands. The apprentice left multiple books with me in case our stories need more space. So I took that storybook and made my own story," I took out the book from my jacket and opened it.
"No," August said.
"I wrote every villain a happy ending while leaving all of the hero's stories intact. It took a lot of thought and planning but I did it. I wrote one single page with the quill and ink, the illustration of Robin and Regina. Now, all I have to do is write the rest of them with the quill and ink and they will fall into place."
"Why didn't you do that before?"
"Because there was only enough magic around me to complete the task that I needed to. But I need that quill and I need it now," I said.
"Call your parents or Emma and get them back here," he said.
"No there is someone who I need to find first," I said.
"Who?"
"Rumplestiltskin."

"Gold!" I yelled as I opened the door to his cabin. I came face to face with Isiah and Gold.
"Leah, a pleasure," Gold said.
"Gold listen to me, I have your happy ending and they allow everyone to win," I said, pulling out the book and showing it to him. Isiah's face fell, "They just have to be written with the quill and ink and it will all be true."
"They are great Leah," Gold said, then he tossed the book in the fire.
"What are you doing. I can give a happy ending," I yelled.
"I know you can deary, but you give us endings where the hero's are still that. I want to flip the script entirely, the villains get to win and the hero's lose. And Isiah here and do that for me," Gold said.
"No, if you do that you go against everything the sorcerer asked of us," I said, pointing at Isaiah.
"But I've already fallen from grace, what will a little more bad do?" he asked.
"Not if I get the quill first," I said.
"Oh, you mean this quill," Gold said, pulling out the author's quill from his coat pocket.
"How did you-"
"All I need is the ink," Isaiah said.
"How do you plan on doing that," I asked.
"I have my ways," Gold said, "The only thing standing in my way is you."
Gold waved his hand and I was picked up in a purple cloud and when it lifted I found myself in a cell. It was the cell that Zelena had Gold trapped in when she was the town's biggest problem. My family would never find me in time to stop the impending doom that was sure to fall over everyone. I slid down the wall and landed on the ground in utter defeat.
