Chapter 24

One year later

I woke up to my alarm and got in the shower. Raven got ready while I filled out the field trip form for her school. Then we walked next door to Emma's apartment.

"Morning guys, breakfast is almost ready," Emma said.

"Rae, why don't you wait with Henry while I help your aunt finish breakfast," I said to her.

Her and Emma's son were really close. I set the table and helped Em with the pancakes. I yelled to the kids to make there way to the table. As they sat down there was a knock on the door. We ignored it then they knocked again.

"Were you expecting someone mom?" Henry asked.

"No," Emma replied.

Emma and I stood up and got the door.

"Emma, Leah, your parents are in danger," the man said.

"Um, are parents died 3 years ago in a car accident," I said.

"Here this might help," he said and kissed Emma. I kicked him in the shin. 

"Well it was worth a shot," he said.

"Who the hell are you," Emma asked.

"I'm an old friend. Here, drink this, everything I say will make sense," the man said.

I closed the door and Emma gave me a high five. We walked back to the kids.

"Who was it mom?" Rae asked me.

"Some crazy guy," I said.

"Someone must have left the gate opened downstairs," Emma said.

"Now come on let's eat," I said.

They scarfed down there food and I handed Raven her field trip papers. They got ready for school. Raven came and kissed me on the cheek then Henry. We waved good bye. When they left I start picking up and Emma got a text.

"Who is it," I asked.

"Walsh, he want to get together at 7 tonight and the restaurant where we started," she said.

"Ohh, a first restaurant date sounds fun. Do you think you'll marry him someday?" I asked.

"Well maybe. Why?" she said.

"Well it might be nice for Henry to have another plate besides two for the holidays," I said.

"We have you and Rae though," she said.

"Yea but we usually go out on vacation on most holidays, but never mind I got to get to work," I said and grabbed my coat.

"Me too see you at two," she said and she walked out with me.

When Henry and Raven came home at 3 Emma and I helped them with there homework. After that Emma got ready for her date. I started on dinner and the kids played video games.

"Where's Aunt Emma going?" Raven asked.

"On a date with Walsh and it's at the restaurant where they had there first date," I replied.

"Do you think he'll propose," Henry asked.

I nodded and put the chicken in the oven. Then Emma came out all dressed up.

"I should be back by 8. You don't stay if you want to go, Henry should be ok by himself," Emma said.

"Aunt Leah I'm forcing you to stay," Henry said.

"HENRY!" Emma said jokingly.

"It's fine Em, I was going to stay anyway," I said "have fun."

She gave Henry a kiss and left. The kids were playing the game they always do. I've gotten pretty good at it.

"I have 45 minute sign me in," I said and walked over to the chair.

Henry threw me a controller. I played till the timer went off and paused the game.

"Henry and Raven please set the table," I said.

They nodded and set the table and got the food out and we ate. The minute we finish we did the dishes and got back to the game. By the time Emma came we where on level 24.

"So how did it go," Raven asked.

"Fine," she said.

"Did you say yes?" Henry asked.

"Wait you knew," she said.

"It was so plain to see," I said.

"Well not to me," she said.

"So you said no?" Henry asked.

"It was so sudden. I said maybe" she replied. "What level are you on?"

"24 you want to play," I said.

She nodded and grabbed a controller. We couldn't beat it. I looked at the time and it was 11:30, I paused it.

"Raven we need to get to bed," I said.

"Fine," she said.

"Hey, I'm going to a sleepover tomorrow with Avery. He said his sister was going to be there. You want to come?" Henry said.

"Mom?" she ask.

"Sure, I'll call her mom tomorrow," I said.

We left and went next door. Raven and I got in pjs and settled into bed. The next morning we didn't go to Em's house we just stayed home. Rae caught the bus with her sleepover stuff in her bag. Emma and I had the day off so we spent most of the day together. We went to the coffee shop and sat outside.

"Did that guy come to you again?" she asked.

"No you?" I replied.

"Ya and he gave me this address and said things would make more sense if we went?" she said.

"I'm not one to turn down an adventure, lets go," I said.

"Alright," she said and we left.

We got to the address. We went inside and looked around. It was empty but a dream catcher and.. Henry's camera! We went straight to a picture story and got the pictures developed. As we looked at them the man came.

"What is this we never went to a StoryBrooke," she said.

"Please drink one of these both of you and this will a make sense," he said.

"Fine," we said and took one. We drank it and all these things went through my mind. Then they stopped Emma and I looked at the man. 

"Hook," Emma said.

"Did you miss me?"
