This is slowly just becoming a Jozawa series, I can't help myself
Enjoy~
Joue's POV
I stood outside the gym in 'something that gives a clear view of my chest', which I hopefully assumed meant my heart. Aizawa had vaguely told me to be ready to move as well, so I just chose a tank top and shorts in hopes that whatever we would be doing would be okay in what I was wearing. Why he had to be so vague and mildly inappropriate about it was beyond me, though I knew he probably didn't think too hard about what he said.
All I knew was that I was following directions in waiting outside the gym for whatever he had planned. I looked to a few straggling students passing by, feeling out of place. Standing in front of a gym was not my picture perfect place. Then again, I looked awkward standing anywhere. I let out a breath, glancing around before the gym door opened behind me. I jumped slightly, startled, seeing Aizawa must've taken the other door. He had specified I stay at this one.
"Come in," he said, holding open the door for me. I gave him an odd look but stepped past him and into the gym. There were a couple of decorative things laying around, seeing as not very many people used this gym. Most hero students used the bigger outdoor space and gym classes for other programs had gyms with more equipment. This was more like a regular high school gymnasium, which had been used for the last school dance. I didn't remember these decorations being for the last dance and instead of the regular floor there were mats laid out.
"What are we--"
"We're going to fight," Aizawa said, casually. I dropped my bag by the bench, the sound echoing in the silence of the large room.
"What?"
"I'm going to teach you how to use your quirk in the way I know best. Physically," he stated. I stared at him for a long time while he awaited for a response.
"You want me," I said, pointing towards myself, "me to fight you?"
"Yes."
"Are you...trying to kill me? Is that why you brought me to the gym no one uses?"
"No I'm not going to hurt you," he said. I still stared at him skeptically. I tied my hair up, the short hairs slipping from the tie.
"What's with all this stuff in here? They use this room for storage?" I asked, putting off what he was about to throw me into.
"The Valentine's dance," Aizawa said. I looked around again, pinpointing some vaguely love themed things.
"Oh..."
"Yaoyorozu has already begun putting it together," he stated. "Come."
"See, okay, I may have landed a punch on you once, but I don't know about--"
"I won't hurt you. I swear," he replied and I made my measly way onto the mat, standing across from him. Standing outside the gym didn't seem so bad now. "My logic, I'll explain to you now, is that if you can use your quirk in a strained state of combat, it will be even easier when you're just in a session."
"I suppose..."
"So I'm just going to teach you some basic things to get out of holds. Kind of like self defense," he explained.
"I've taken that before," I said. "That time I got flipped by my partner, I'm...light on my feet so adjust accordingly."
"Will do. Now show me a chest strike," he stated. He stood still and I paused.
"Strike...like with the heel of my hand?" I asked. He nodded, gesturing towards himself. "I don't want to hit you! I already did by accident!"
"You won't hurt me," he said.
