(y/n)'s POV
"So everything is set for the surprise party later?" I asked, having ordered a cake and bought all the decorations for Kacchan's birthday. Mina nodded at me, graciously offering to set everything up. She had commissioned the Bakusquad boys to help as well, though Kaminari had been complaining all day about it. It was his Saturday off, but I didn't really care.
Kacchan would probably be pissed we were throwing a surprise party. Despite his love for attention as number 1, he really hated all the birthday stuff. He was required to be appreciative and celebratory, which was not his usual forte.
I had trouble thinking of what to get him, considering the presents I had gotten him in the past were pretty damn cool. The most recent thing I had given him was on Christmas, which was the cool letterman jacket designed with his colors. 'Lord Explosion Murder' written across the back. I had yet to see him wear it. I knew he liked it, but he was probably embarrassed to wear anything I had gotten him in front of his friends. Maybe I'd make him wear it today.
"Thanks Mina, you're the best!"
"As always," she said, rolling her eyes. I headed back to Kacchan's dorm, figuring we could go walk around somewhere. I caught him already heading out.
"Birthday boy!"
"Don't call me that," he scoffed.
"Fine, KitKat it is," I sighed, extending my hand to him. "You want to walk around some?"
"Walk around and do what?"
"I don't know, maybe we can hang out in the park," I stated.
"Fine, so long as I don't have to be here," he shrugged, taking my hand.
"Why so grumpy?"
"I got a call from my mom."
"Awe, saying happy birthday?"
"Yeah," he replied, swinging my hand ever so slightly. His eyes were trained on it. "She was just saying stuff like be nice to people who are celebrating my birthday."
"It's you're birthday, you don't have to be nice."
"That's what I said," he scoffed back. "She was being really weird too."
"Oh...well we saw her yesterday. Maybe she wanted to say something and forgot," I replied. He just shrugged.
"I don't want to--" We were stopped by Aizawa and Joue who were walking towards the common room.
"Hey sensei," I greeted. "Hi Joue."
Aizawa looked to Joue, who just nudged his shoulder. He let out a sigh.
"First off, happy birthday Bakugo." Bakugo pout slightly, but said thank you nonetheless. Joue had brought Kacchan a snack when he saw her yesterday, so she stood idly by. "I received a call from your mother."
"What?" Kacchan asked.
"Is he in trouble?" I questioned. That was unfortunately where my mind had gone to.
"No, she just--wanted me to tell you 2 that--safety is important and it's a celebratory day. When you've been dating for a while, things happen and teenagers are full of--discovery," Aizawa was actually tripping over his words slightly, trying to phrase it correctly.
"Oh my God," Kacchan muttered.
"She wants you two to have fun, in a safe way. So have protection--"
