Shinsou's POV

"I just can't wait till you join our class next year!" Kaminari said, eyeing the different things I had on my shelf. I hadn't remembered inviting him in, but he was stood in my dorm looking at the other things that resided near the ceramic cat he gave me.

"Yeah, I guess that's exciting."

"You guess??" He asked, turning to look at me. I was sat on my bed with my legs spread straight. "I've seen your progression with Aizawa-sensei! It's going to be so cool to have you around."

"You have?" He glanced at me, awkwardly smiling.

"It's not like I watch or anything, jeez!" He called, flopping over my legs. I grunted slightly, peering down at him.

"Did I even let you in?"

"Nope!" I rolled my eyes, shaking him off my legs. He whined and rolled over, picking an empty spot on the bed, near the end. "Hey, you should come play video games with me and Sero! I asked Kirishima but he said he was busy and we don't let Mina play because she's too good. Last time I played Bakugo hit me with the controller so he can't come either. So there's a controller for you! We're thinking of teaching Todoroki how to play too."

"No thanks, I've got somewhere to be," I said and he whined again. I had to set up the rooftop for Bakugo's stunt, so Kaminari would have to wait. "Maybe later." He beamed back at me, talking about this one game he wanted to play. He flopped back on my legs, his head resting on my thighs.

I just stared at him light up, not quirk-wise thankfully, about his interests. It was so confusing as to why he wanted to talk to me or all people. I didn't see how I was so deserving of his attention. My stomach crunches as he gestured. I reached out without thinking to place a few fingers in his hair. He ran out of breath, peering up at me. I watched his face go warm with color.

"Uh...hi," he said and I took my hand away, placing it in front of my mouth. I glanced away as my face went red too. I hadn't meant to do that, but when it was Kaminari I couldn't help it.

"Sorry," I muttered and he sat up.

"Nah, it's fine." It was quiet for some time before I spoke up again.

"Can I just asked you something?"

"Sure."

"Why did you like me?" I asked. His face fell slightly, and I felt bad for asking it.

"Well, I think you're really cool and powerful and you're fun to talk to when you open up. You know," he shrugged.

"Sorry for asking."

"It's fine." There were about a million reasons why I liked Kaminari, but upon realizing the fact I had already pushed him away. Not to mention his reputation as a hero and with his classmates would be tarnished if they knew he was friends with me.

"How come you want to be friends with me?"

"Pretty much the same reason."

"But what about the fact that I've got a villains quirk?" I pointed out. He glanced up at me, confused.

"Is that why you don't want to hang around me?" He asked. I didn't know how to respond and he frowned, confirming the fact. "Well you fully know that I don't think you have a villain's quirk and the rest of class 1-A doesn't either. Not even Bakugo."

"But those people that do will see you around me and trash your career."

"So? If they do, I don't care because I'll still be saving people and doing my job. I don't have to agree with them. Not to mention I'm 100% confident you'll prove them wrong," he said. I frowned, looking away from him. "That's another reason why I like you so much, you're a really strong and competent guy. You shouldn't listen to what they say and continue your good work to prove everyone else wrong. And I'll be by your side! You can't get rid of me, that's just a fact."

I chuckled slightly and he grinned at me, feeling accomplished for having made me laugh.

"Any girl would be lucky to have you dude," Kaminari said, smiling at me.

"What?"

"Any...girl would be lucky to have you?" He reiterated. I had forgotten I used the excuse that I didn't like guys to push him away.

"Right, thanks." He just nodded, peering around my room again but staying seated this time. "Kaminari?"

"Hmm?"

"I kind of lied to you a little," I replied.

"About what?"

"Liking girls."

"As in...you don't?"

"Yeah," I replied.

"So...you're like asexual or something?" He asked.

"No."

"So...do you like anybody? Because I'm pretty sure that's asexual or...aromantic? Wait—"

"I like guys," I interrupted.

"Oh..." he said softly. "I don't know what I'm supposed to do with that information. You told me your didn't like guys because you didn't want me hanging around you?"

"Yes."

"So you like guys but not me? You could've just said that."

"Well that's not true."

He paused, staring at him lap and then back up at me with a sly smirk.

"Oh really?" He obnoxiously tucked his hair behind his ear and I scoffed, rolling my eyes.

"Never mind, you suck."

"Only if you ask nicely," he replied, placing a finger gun at his chin.

"Get out of my room."

"Okay, okay I'm sorry!" He called.

"I just, feel weird about the whole villain thing and until that goes away, I don't really want to be...something with you."

"Sure! That's fine by me! I'll just have to woo you!" He said, hopping up.

"Please don't."

"I've got an arsenal of pick up lines and I'm saving them for you babe," he winked and I sighed, having gotten myself into this. "Remember! Video games later."

"Fine." He smiled at me and quickly bent to give me a hug, squeezing around my shoulders.

"See you later Toshi! Can I call you that?" He asked, heading for my door.

"Uh, sure."

"Cool! See you later," he reiterated and by the time he shut my door, I felt my face aflame with a blush. There was a soft feeling at the pit of my stomach and I shook it off, heading off to the roof.
