After escorting Zuko to his room, Sokka pointed out the bathroom and left to go get some food since Zuko's stomach growled as soon as he sat down. While he was downstairs, Zuko pulled his sweater to his palms and lay down on Sokka's bed, bundling himself up in his hoodie. The pain was now a dull ache in his face and he felt like crying. Not really sure why, he just wanted to.

But he was at Sokka's house, in his room, on his bed. Burying his face into the covers, he breathed in the smell of Sokka's sheets. It was a hard smell to pinpoint, but it was nice. Subtle. It soothed him and the want to cry left him. Closing his eyes, he focused on the smell.

_

Sokka looked around the kitchen for something he could get to feed Lee. Grabbing some crackers out of the cupboard, he dumped some onto a plate. Opening the fridge, he grabbed the cheese and put it down to cut some slices. Preparing to make a slice, he started wondering what Lee was doing right now... Laying on his bed maybe? Sitting down? He pictured it a little.

Dark hair pooling around his face and on Sokka's pillows. Pale skin contrasting against the blue of his sheets. Peachy lips... Golden eyes sheen with lust.

He cut a slice, dragging his mind out of the gutter. That was most certainly not how he was supposed to think about people he considered his friends. Quickly slicing the rest of the cheese, he put the dairy block back in the fridge and made his way back up towards his room. Back to the person he'd just thought dirty things about.

As he walked up the stairs, his mind brought up what the nurse said earlier. The weird look she gave him when he said he hadn't found his soulmate was kind of nerve wracking. Why did she look at him like he was the most idiotic person on the planet? Maybe I am... He thought to himself, looking down at a piece of cheese on the plate.

Walking into his room, he tried not to react at the sight before him. Lee was indeed on his bed, lying down. Maybe he was asleep?

"Lee?" He asked softly, inching closer to the still lump of a person on his bed.

Immediately, the other boy shot up into a sitting position, his face bright red. Sokka flinched at the sudden movement, jumping back an inch.

"Sorry!" He exclaimed, shooting off Sokka's bed and onto the floor.

"Uh... You can sit on my bed...," Sokka quirked an eyebrow at him. "I was just making sure you weren't asleep. You okay?"

"Yeah... I'm fine..."He replied though his face hadn't toned down at all. "Thanks."

"So, I got us cheese and crackers...," Sokka trailed off, his gaze sliding around the room slowly, unsure of where to take the conversation. "You're not lactose intolerant or gluten uhhh... what's the word?"

"Um.. I'm not," Zuko chuckled. "I can eat cheese and crackers."

"Okay great!" Sokka beamed, handing him the platter.

He sat down next to him on the floor since Zuko hadn't moved back to the bed. Taking a piece of cheese, he popped it in his mouth, doing his best not to make any sound as he chewed. Zuko was a very soft eater. Taking small bites and chewing slowly...

"So... What do you want to do now?" Sokka asked once they'd finished the cheese.

"Well... I should probably call my Uncle," Zuko sighed, pulling out his phone. "I know he'll kind of freak out though... Plus..."

Casting a sideways glance at Sokka, he looked away again at the eager blue eyes staring at him. He sighed again, pushing the power button on his phone. It didn't turn on.
