"How did you get-?" Sokka uttered.

"I have my ways," He shrugged, keeping his gun pointed at Sokka. "Now, turn left up here."

"Are you going to kill me?" Sokka uttered, turning left.

    "What do you think?"

    "Probably..."

The guy shrugged again. "Turn right."

    "Where are we going?"

"If I tell you, I'll definitely have to kill ya," The guy spat. "Now, shut your mouth and turn left at those lights up there."

Without another word, Sokka did as the man said, with each turn his hands clenched tighter on the steering wheel. Just as they turned on to a country road, Sokka's phone started ringing.

He glanced at it, Zuko's face flushing on the screen. He internally eased at the memory of taking the picture, but fear overtook him at the thought of leaving Zuko. The gun pressed to his head. It wasn't like he had a choice...

"Who is it?" The guy asked when Zuko called again.

    "My soulmate." Sokka answered shortly.

"Shit. Which one are you?" The guy uttered.

"That question again?" Sokka glanced at him in the rearview mirror. "I'm the one that feels his pain... Physically."

The guy sighed, pressing the gun to Sokka's head again. "Answer it."

Without a reply, Sokka picked it up and held it to his ear.

"No. On speaker. Can't risk getting pulled over."

"We're in the middle of nowhere!"

    "Do it!"

Sokka answered it, Zuko's worried voice breaking the stale car air.

    "Sokka! Sokka!?"

"Hey, I'm here." He said softly, trying to keep his voice from shaking.

"Where are you? They apprehended two of the guys but you said there was 3, right?!"

"Yeah, yeah I uh...," He glanced in the mirror again. "I don't know what happened to him."

"Are you on your way back?"

"I will be in a minute. I just... I'm still a little panicky so I'm just gonna drive for a little bit."

"You sure? You seem a bit different."

"Zuko, I was just in a low-key hostage situation. It's scary."

"Okay, okay... I'll see you when you get back..."

"Yeah, I love you." Sokka stated, hanging up.

Then he froze. He'd just said it again. Over the phone. Well, it was probably either then or never, who knew if he'd get out of this alive.

Suddenly he wanted to cry. As the guy continued to direct him, he felt his lips quiver and his throat start to hurt at the resistance of tears. He turned on to a rocky dirt road and sobbed.

"Are you... Crying?" The guy asked softly.

Sokka didn't answer. He couldn't answer. He just kept crying. All the stress he'd pent up throughout the day, all the fear and terror he'd had to suppress, and now, the sheer helplessness he felt, it all poured out.

"Alright, alright, pull over." The guy instructed.

Choking on another sob, his heart caught in his throat as he pulled over.

"Look, kid. I don't want to kill anyone other than that shit Ozai, so I'll let you get back to your boyfriend. But if you tell anyone what I look like or where I am, I'll hunt you down and slit your throat. Got it?"

Sokka froze in place. Unable to talk still, he nodded and the guy got out of the car.

As he watched the man stroll into the dark of the night, he locked the doors and put his head on the steering wheel, not even able to comprehend what just happened.

When he got home, the sun was rising. There was absolutely no way he was going to school. He could barely pull himself out of the car nevermind all the way to school.

He decided it would be better to just avoid the stairs in general and flopped on the couch, passing out almost immediately.

When he woke up, it was midday. The house was quiet.

Sitting up, he looked around. Evidence of people getting ready was everywhere. Meaning that the rest of the bunch were still at school.

He grabbed his phone to check the time but instead was faced with a flash of his lock screen before it died.

"Stupid piece of crap." He muttered at it, tossing it over to the coffee table.

He went upstairs to take a shower and also get his charger but was startled at the fact that there was indeed a person in his room. But this was a good person.

"Zuko." He uttered, freezing in the doorway.

The teen turned around in a flash and sprung towards Sokka.

"Sokka!" He threw his arms around his boyfriend and clutched him close. "I'm so glad you're okay..."

"Me too." Sokka sighed, finally feeling relaxed with Zuko's arms around him.

    "And, I love you too."

Sokka tensed a bit, along sure he heard things right before digging his face into Zuko's shoulder. His hands moved up his back to hold him closer.

"I was so scared... I thought I'd never see you again," Sokka started to feel the tears come back. "All I wanted was to hold you..."

"You're holding me now, everything is ok." Zuko reassured, rubbing Sokka's back.

"It's more than okay," Sokka smiled. "It's perfect."
