Graduating high school was something Sokka kind of expected he'd never accomplish. Or at least he'd have to do the year over and over again first. But with Zuko's help, he managed to pass.
Zuko had plans to work at his Uncle's tea shop to save up for university so that he could make his own business eventually. Just so he wouldn't have to deal with bad memories from his father's company and also so Azula could have it.Sokka was heading to business school so he could eventually take over his Dad's business as well and luck be have it, they were going to the same place.
"Congratulations on graduating Sokka." Katara smiled, giving him a bouquet.
"Surprised you actually got good enough grades to pass." Toph quipped, smirking.
"Thanks, guys." Sokka smiled.
A few feet away, Iroh was congratulating Zuko. The ceremony had enough people that he could come and Ozai wouldn't be able to do anything. Not like he would, with someone out to get him and Mai apparently finding her soulmate, he truly had no need for Zuko anymore.
And yet Iroh still didn't feel comfortable letting him come home yet so he was still living with Sokka. But they were preparing to let him move out within the next two weeks since Hakoda was finally coming home and it would be strange to come home to another stranger in your house.
But for the time being, they were just enjoying spending time with one another.

"Alright I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Sokka smiled, waving to the gang.
"What, where are you going?" Aang asked.
"I'm going to go celebrate a bit with my classmates and then," Sokka smirked a little, glancing at Zuko who was still deep in a conversation with Iroh. "Celebrate with Lee."
Aang and Toph didn't seem to catch on to the subtle hint, but Katara did.
"Sokka!" She gasped, the colour draining from her face.
"What?~" He shrugged, smiling. "You'll understand eventually, Katara."
"Ugh, just... Don't refer to that around me ever again." She shook her head, pushing Aang towards the exit.
Both him and Toph still utterly confused.
Waving them goodbye, Sokka turned back towards Zuko who was laughing at something Iroh had just said. He glanced down at the graduation robes Zuko was wearing and bit his lip. Maybe it was because he hadn't really thought about or done anything in a while, but he suddenly got on edge.
Looking back at Zuko again, he noticed that he was glaring back at him, his face red.
"Oh, right... Shit." He chuckled awkwardly to himself.
He'd forgotten about that part of the whole soulmate debacle.
With a little grin, he sauntered over and wrapped an arm around Zuko's waist.
"What's that look for?" He muttered into his hair.
"You know what, idiot." Zuko sighed, but there was a hint of a smile to his tone.
"Congratulations, Sokka," Iroh smiled at him, oblivious to the situation occuring between the two teens. "And I must thank you again for allowing my nephew to stay with you."
