Zuko woke up to a strange and unfamiliar feeling. He'd slept like a rock. Probably one, if not the best sleeps he'd ever gotten. And waking up in Sokka's arms only made it better.
Sokka's dark hair spilled over the pillow, his mouth slightly open revealing a tiny bit of his teeth. He was still conked out. Probably not a morning person.
With a mental shrug, Zuko nuzzled closer and just savoured the warmth of Sokka's body against his and fell back asleep.
When he woke up a second time, Sokka was awake and was playing with his hair. Seeing Zuko's gold eyes looking up at him, he smiled.
"Morning." He said softly.
"Morning." Zuko yawned and then dug his face back into Sokka.
Inhaling the smell before sitting up, Zuko felt the urge to just lay in bed all day. But Sokka started getting up once Zuko moved, tarnishing that idea.
"Where is your bathroom? And may I borrow some clothes and a towel?" Sokka asked, pulling off his shirt.
"Uh..." Zuko blanked. Staring.
"Like what you see?" Sokka smirked, turning to face him.
"I... Yeah...," Zuko nodded. "I'll get you a towel."
Zuko swung his legs off the bed and got up. He was still in his work shirt and sweatpants from yesterday. Subconsciously, he pulled off his own shirt as well, tossing it into his hamper.
Moving to his dresser, he failed to notice the blue eyes trailing his every move.
"These should work," Zuko held out a change of clothes, turning to see Sokka. "What?"
"Nothing..." Sokka breathed, looking away.
"Sokka, are you ogling me?" Zuko asked, broadcasting a cocky grin.
"Am I not allowed?" Sokka smirked.
Walking over he pulled Zuko in for a kiss. Running his hand through Zuko's hair, he smiled when a low hum resonated through their kiss. Zuko pushed him away softly, raising an eyebrow.
"It's like, 12. Go take a shower hornball." He huffed, tossing the clothes at Sokka.
"Shower with me?" Sokka offered.
"Take me out for dinner first," Zuko smirked, walking over to sit at the edge of his bed. "The bathroom is through that door."

Iroh gave Zuko the day off meaning that he got to spend the day with Sokka. They walked around downtown together, window shopping, and trying on weird T shirts from second hand stores.
"Oh hey, wanna go to that café over there?" Sokka offered, pointing to a store across the street.
"Sure, but don't tell my uncle we're supporting a competitor." Zuko chuckled, taking Sokka's hand as he pulled him across the street.
Sokka got a latte and Zuko got iced tea. The iced tea wasn't the best tea which Zuko was shocked to have noticed, earning a laugh from Sokka. Caffeine made him hyper.
When they left the store, they'd sparked up a structured debate over whether the phrase "Flameo" even meant something other than "fuck" at any point in time.
"No but see if it did mean hi, then why would they change it to slang for f-" Zuko cut himself off, his eyes caught on something. Or rather... Someone.
"What?" Sokka asked, following Zuko's line of sight to a trio of girls making their way down the street. "Who...?"
"Shh," Zuko hissed, dragging Sokka into the closest shop. "Just... I'll explain in a second."
They watched as the girls passed outside the shop, Zuko's grip tightening and he wrenched his free hand into Sokka's shirt.
"Hey," Sokka said, grabbing his attention. "How do you feel about baseball caps?"
"What?" Zuko uttered.
Sokka shot him a triumphant smile and pulled a red hat off the shelf to show it to him. In bold, orange letters it said "Flameo!" On it.
"Oh God..." Zuko chuckled.
"I'm gonna buy it for you." Sokka smiled, wrapping an arm around Zuko's lower back and walked him over to the cash.
"Just the hat?" The cashier asked.
"Yep. That's- oh! Wait one of these," Sokka noted, grabbing a necklace from the display on the counter and put it down next to the hat. "And that's all."
"Great! That'll be $30 please."
"Here you go." Sokka handed them some cash.
"Have a nice day." They nodded, handing him back some change.
Sokka nodded back and then grabbed the bag, yanking out the hat and then putting it on Zuko's head.
"There, now," Sokka patted his shoulder and then swung his hand down to grab Zuko's. "You wanna go somewhere else so those girls don't see you?"
"Yes please."
_
"So who's the necklace for?" Zuko queried, eyeing the bag.
"My sister, she loves moon themed stuff so I figured she'd like this." Sokka replied, swinging their clasped hands back and forth.
"That's nice of you." Zuko nodded, trailing off.
"So if you don't mind me asking, who were those girls?" Sokka piped up after a few minutes of silence.
"Oh... My sister and her friends. One of them being Mai." Zuko replied glumly.
"The girl you were engaged to?!" Sokka raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah... It was weird seeing them there..."
Zuko moved to say something else, but a sharp ding from his pocket cut him off. Pulling out his phone, he gave Sokka an apologetic look before reading the text he'd just received.
"Weird... My Uncle says not to come home tonight..." Zuko muttered.
"What?" Sokka leaned over to read the message.
Another one popped up just as he finished reading the message.
"Your sister is here looking for you. I have a bad feeling." He muttered.
Zuko shivered, stuffing his phone in his pocket.
"Should we be worried for your uncle though?" Sokka asked softly, putting a hand on Zuko's shoulder.
"No, he can take care of himself. Legally my father can't do anything to him because he cut himself off from the family when my Grandfather died." Zuko explained.
"Okay... Well, you can sleep at my house then I guess." Sokka offered.
"That'd be great." Zuko smiled back.
_
They pulled into Sokka's driveway and Sokka turned to Zuko.
"Okay, so I don't think you've formally met everyone, but they all like you so don't worry. They don't know your real name so I'm going to call you Lee in front of them, is that ok?" Sokka explained, taking off his seatbelt.
"That's fine." Zuko shot him a smile, taking off his seatbelt as well.
With a tiny smile back, Sokka leaned over to give him a peck on the lips.
"Alright, let's go in!"
