A Galaxy Threatened (Book 1)

Fives

     By the time we returned to Coruscant, it was already dark. Most of the clones had to be woken up by Rex upon our arrival but Fives and I stayed awake the entire time just talking about our lives. I really enjoyed his company. I got off of the cruiser and went up to Master Luminara.

"Is there anything you wish for me to do before I leave you, Master?", I asked.

"No, Kane. You deserve some rest. You did well today, and you have exceeded my expectations. Feel free to go somewhere and chat with your new friend, Fives. I see you two have become close."
"He's a good soldier and an even better friend," I replied, hoping she did not know the real reason why I was becoming so close with Fives.

She bowed and walked towards the Temple. I stayed outside and waited for Fives to finish talking with Rex.

      I sat on the stairs and was looking down at the ground when I heard footsteps heading my way. It was Fives.

"Hey, Kane. Follow me. I want to show you something."

I shook my head in agreement and got up and accompanied him to wherever he was taking me. We went behind the walls of the Temple and when nobody was around Fives reached for my hand. My heart started racing.

"Is this really happening?", I thought. I gladly accepted his hand into mine. He had a firm, strong grip on me but at the same time, it was gentle and kind. He stopped in a place where nobody else was in sight and looked me directly in the eyes.

"Now I hardly know anything about the Jedi Code, so I might be breaking a lot of formalities here, but I have to get something off of my chest that I wanted to say ever since I first met you in the training room."

"Fives...," was all I could say. My mind was spiraling. I couldn't believe this was happening.

He removed his helmet revealing his handsome face.

"Kane, you're the most beautiful man I've ever laid my eyes on."

Before I had a chance to respond he pulls me into a rich, deep kiss. The taste of his lips set me on fire. He pulled me in even closer to him and strengthened the kiss. The way his tongue infiltrated my mouth made me feel like he had wanted to do this for a very long time but there was never a right moment for it. It felt like time had stopped and we were the only people in the entire galaxy. I wanted this to last for the rest of time.

      Eventually, he pulled away.

"Kane, would you like to be more than just friends?", he asked me in a sincere voice.

"How can I say no after what you just did," I replied blushing and with an unyielding smile.

"It's getting late. We should head to our rooms."

I agreed and we held hands all the way back since there was no one nearby to stop us. I said goodbye to Fives as he headed in the direction of the barracks while I went to my private sleeping quarters.

      I closed the door behind me and laid my lightsabers on the table beside my bed; my hands still trembling from what just happened. I took off my robe and lied down. I went through that kiss over and over and over in my head. I wanted to remember it forever. Right as I shut my eyes, I heard someone knock at my door. I got up and pressed the button to open it. Standing before me was Fives. He wasn't wearing his armor. Instead, he had on a tight-fitting black shirt with the symbol of the Republic on it that showed off his bulging muscles.
