"You two seem to be the sensible ones of the bunch." Reginald stated.

The three of them were seated in stools, next to the bar where a bartender was making their drinks.

Five was in between Reginald and Amura, so the woman had to lean forward to put her attention to the old man.

"That's because I'm the oldest. You know, technically, I'm older than you right now." The boy stated that made the girl take a sharp breath.

Can't believe he actually said that to his Father.

Reginald didn't know what to say, but he was saved by the bartender who placed a bottle of liquor in front of them.

"Cognac?" The old man asked.

"Just a smidge..." Five then looked at Amura, "But none for the lady." He said that made her roll her eyes and sat up straight.

Reginald started to pour a glass for Five while speaking at the same time, "The other night you quoted Homer at me, Why?"

"You forced us all to learn it as kids. In the original Greek, no less."

Amura did learn about it too, her Mother had a small library in their home that she actually read and memorized them all since she was a child.

Hard to accept, but she had a wonderful memory back then, she just forgot how it became bad.

And so, she chose to kept quiet and gestured for the bartender to come, "A glass of wine please." She quietly said and smiled.

Five gave her a subtle look before drinking his own alcohol, humming at it's taste.

"This world ends in five days if we don't get out of the timeline." He stated.

"Worlds end. Paleozoic, Jurassic, and so on." Reginald just replied, as if the end of the world was nothing but a natural thing.

"We can do something about this one."

"Man's greatest flaw: the illusion of control."

"We need your help." Five was getting desperate, and Amura just watched them while sipping her wine, letting the subconsciously old man do the work.

"All right? You're our last sane option. Otherwise, we gotta make a deal that we really don't wanna make." The girl averted her gaze at the two then at her wine, fully knowing what Five was talking about.

"What do you know about time travel?" The boy asked.

"In theory?"

"In practice."

"I know it's akin to descending blindly into the depths of freezing waters and reappearing..."

"...As an acorn. Yeah." Five continued for the old man, the definition of time travelling was etched-by the man in front of him-to his mind.

"What transpired when you tried traveling before?"

"I botched it."

"How?"

"I jumped too far forward, got stuck in the future for 45 years in an apocalypse." When Five told this, Reginald looked at Amura, silently asking if she was with him.

She just shook her head and looked away.

"Then I jumped too far backwards... except this time I brought my entire family with me." The boy summarized.

"Maybe your appetite is disproportionate to the size of your abilities. Start small. Seconds, not decades." The old man adviced.

The girl just eyed them in the corner of her eye.
