"So..." Jackson started the conversation almost awkwardly as soon as Dahyun sat in her seat, not even waiting for his boss to be comfortable. He cleared his throat, "What do you want to discuss?" He wont bother using honorifics just because they are outside office, Jackson would always say.
"Can't I even take a sip of the wine?" She lifted the glass and smelled the scent of the pure wine served to them, "Do you have something else to do that you are so obvious of rushing me?" Dahyun pointed out. The Vice President sighed and muttered such incoherent words before Dahyun pointed it out too, cutting him off of his trance.
The night was exceptionally cold, Dahyun didn't bother to bring a coat when she went outside to pick flowers, and she kinda regretted it. She makes dumb decisions sometimes...it's part of being alive. But the thing with her is when Dahyun planned to make a change, lets say she want someone out. She wouldn't just kick someone out but get rid of that someone. Her decisions have major impacts in both her life and the company she helped running. And she was taught to make great decisions that wouldn't just take part of a revolution but starts it.
"You know, Wang..." She started, eyes wandering around the pedestrians crossing the street rubbing their hands together to create some warmth. "When I was first assigned to be the CEO of our company...I was nervous. Of course I was, who wouldn't be I was only young back then yet others trusted me to run their business with them. It was either stimulating or anxiously, and I was both." She threw a glance at him before resuming whilst he intently listens to whatever wisdom Dahyun has to say, "The first I was introduced to the public..." She sighed as she looked down as if she's reminiscing the moments she had, trying to find the right words to tell him. It was challenging, "My father trusted me with my job. And I very much respect my father." Jackson fell silent, eagerly looking for some memories he had shared with the great Mr. Kim his boss is talking about. "Everyone was fascinated by me and how I do my job perfectly at such age. But every compliments wouldn't matter to me that time if it weren't from my dad. He was my sole reason that I accepted the position from him even if my mother wouldn't want me too. I wanted to please him at least with that." There was a pause, Dahyun remembered every hardships she had in hopes to please her father, every fear she swallowed just because of him. Dahyun craved a simple praise from him that it was almost her only reason why she was still alive and working. Being a CEO is sure one hell of a job. "I respect him so much that I will do everything for our company to not be tarnished. He built this on his own. With his own blood and sweat and tears." Dahyun catched her breath. "No one can take it from him. Especially the Boards." There was a recognizable disdain lying beneath her every words that she was yet to release. Dahyun still had control over these past few years and Jackson commend her for it. He knew how Dahyun's mind works, he knew one day Dahyun will be saying this and that. Harboring the company from the Boards that she knew from the very start is danger. And when Dahyun made up her mind...nothing and no one can stop her.
"Why are you saying this to me, Miss Kim?" He wanted to be sure. He wanted to be ready from anything out of his strength.
"You know damn well, Jackson." She replied, and yes...he knew damn well. "You see Jackson. That company was once a barren field, filled with nothing but dirt and rocks and weeds. Nothing grows there. But you know how it goes from a barren field to the top company of the country?" He didn't asked how but Dahyun proceeded, considering his eyes showing so much anticipation for her words is enough, Jackson shifted on his seat, "They eliminated the useless...the rocks and the dirt and the weeds. Our company is that barren field, sure we manage to grow out some flowers, but this time grasses started growing shamelessly...And to grow more plants and flowers we need to eliminate the grasses." Jackson was silent once again.
Dahyun lifted her glass of wine and drank all of it to her heart's content until it was empty, "To put it simply, I want the rest of the Boards to be gone."
