The soft music of the Jazz band located from the far end of the ship had died down from one to another song and everything else continued to move, but Dahyun and Nayeon.
A look of confusion (and maybe even curiosity) stayed in Nayeon's eyes, glinting with passion to probably know more about the things she just found out. The things that Dahyun had just said. The things that she's not yet ready to explain.
Her eyes glanced behind Dahyun only to find Sana not looking anymore, maybe pretending to indulge herself with whatever the group of people she is in, is talking about. A loud laughter from everyone there had caught some people's attention. Dahyun looked back, seeing Suho talking animatedly with his friends and his wife clinging on his arms for her dear life.
A hot and prickling sensation ran through the skin of Sana's back but she tried so hard not to mind it, hands gripping incredibly tight on Suho's arms but her husband is too busy to notice.
"Sana?" Nayeon asked. Her voice, because small, drowned in the sea of all the other noises but Dahyun heard her nevertheless. Their hands stayed in all the places on their body as Dahyun tried searching for the words to answer to Nayeon. Maybe she had the right to know? Because God, keeping this to herself would probably kill her one day.
But it wouldn't be easy. It shouldn't be easy. Considering how she's feeling for the woman is no laughing matter. Dahyun knew that no one should know about it, because if someone found it out (accidental or not) then her image that she built (her father built for her) would probably shatter. That she knew. And she doesn't want to do that to Sana too.
But even so, she think Nayeon can know. But not entirely. That she had known Sana for a long time now and all of their moments as they accidentally meet.
A sad smile played across Dahyun's lips before clearing her throat as it felt dry, "Yes."
She was expecting more to Nayeon's reaction, but instead, the woman only parted her lips. As if she's thinking something about her. She felt the cold stare of Nayeon as the woman searched through her eyes for answers that Dahyun knew to herself that she couldn't say out loud. Dahyun acted tough, she let Nayeon see her the way she is right now, even if it'll let the woman change the way she see Dahyun for the rest of her life.
A passing second up until a few more minutes. No other words had gone through them. No one spoke and Dahyun felt like she's about to go insane if Nayeon wouldn't still strike up a conversation any minute now. The background noise isn't helping even a bit to make everything sense, to keep her on her ground.
She gnawed the inside of her cheeks to prevent a whine from spilling. Her eyes buried into Nayeon's with every spilling answers to try and hide from her (She wanted to let Nayeon found it out herself), but Nayeon's way more smarter than she thought she is, because after a moment of studying every inch of Dahyun's eyes, a look of realization as well as great shocked, passed through her eyes even before she could subconsciously free her body from Dahyun's arms. Nayeon leaned back the slightest amount to cover her mouth. Eyes trailing in front of her as if the guest around them started disappearing one by one until it's just the two of them.
Nayeon hated having to found out.
"You..." She manages to say despite having her body entirely stuck in her place. A squishing feeling enveloped her throat as she tried to get away from the ringing sound in her mind, "you like her." It was not a question, it's as if Nayeon already knew what Dahyun had been feeling the first time she saw Sana in the bookstore. That maybe she liked Sana that long, she just doesn't know it yet that time.
A heavy feeling came out of nowhere surged through Dahyun's chest, aiming for her beating heart, trying to make it stop. Guilt washing over her as her hand hovered beside her pocket, don't actually know what to do with it. Dahyun swallowed the lump in her throat, with downcast eyes she tried giving Nayeon a sad smile, once again.
