Michael
It was so easy, just talking to her. The fact that she was here, in my house, just looking completely at ease made me happier than I'd been in months. This little southern girl was exactly what I needed in my life, although I couldn't help but imagine her with some piercings or tattoos. She wasn't the typical girl I'd go to, but her innocence and genuine happiness drew me towards her. It was like she was the sun, and I was stuck in orbit. Honestly, I wasn't dying to get out anytime soon.
"Luke won't shut up about her, y'know." I nodded over towards where my best friend was staring down at Savannah. It was true, all he ever talked about was her.
"They're adorable." Belle agreed, following my gaze. "Luke still gonna ask her out tonight?"
I nodded, "He's nervous as shit, but he'll get over it. I just don't wanna be stuck alone while he's out with her."
"If you want, we could go do something." Belle suggested, staring right at me with her large hazel eyes.
"Done. But you're gonna have to pick something because I know nothing about this town." I beamed, excited she took the bait. I couldn't outright ask her to go on a date with me, not with that asshole boyfriend of hers. But if she suggested it, and we were 'just friends' for now, I'd take that all day long.
"I've got a few ideas, don't worry." She laughed.
"Alright then, Ms. Crawford. Anything I need to know up front?" I asked, leaning back into the couch.
She thought for a minute before her smile took over her face again. She shook her head, "Nah, it'll be a surprise."
"I like surprises." I confessed before Luke shouted that we needed to get going. Regretfully, I rose from the couch, stretched, and helped Belle up. She was so tiny compared to me, I was so afraid I'd break her if I pulled too hard. But she didn't break, and I followed her out to the white jeep that waited in my driveway. If we were gonna split up, then we'd need to take two cars.
Luke was thinking the same thing and immediately offered to drive. He couldn't take Savv, because the Jeep was her car, so Belle grabbed Luke and hauled him over to his car, ordering Savv to take me. I obeyed and got into the passenger seat of her car and strapped in.
"Ready to go?" She asked, smiling at me. There was something behind the smile though, and once I caught the look, a pit dropped in my stomach.
"Yeah."
"Okay." She flipped her hair over her shoulder and backed out, leading Luke's car to the field.
"Just say it." I ordered after a minute. Her smile and smirk were driving me insane. She knew and she had to fess up before I blew a gasket.
"I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, Michael Gordon Clifford of 5 Seconds of Summer." She grinned as we paused at a stop light. Jesus.
"So you do know!" I exclaimed. "You're a fan! You're in the fam!"
"Obviously." She rolled her eyes and pulled forward once the light was green. "You didn't think anyone down here would recognize you. That's it, that's why you're finishing school in the south. You didn't want people to freak and mob you."
"Christ, you just know everything don't you?" I asked, a harsher than I intended. "Sorry, I just want a few months of normal living. Like a break."
"Understandable." Savv agreed, pulling into a parking space. "But I won't tell anyone. I'm not like that." She turned and looked at me. "But don't tell Luke I know. I don't want to be another fan to him, okay? As hard as it may be for you guys to grasp, I actually have feelings for your dork of a friend."
