It's been a while since my first day at school and now everything has been falling into a routine for me.
Eli started going by the name Hawk, though when we ever hung out alone, he allowed me to call him Eli sometimes, which I enjoyed, but I got so use to Hawk that I forget sometimes that his name is Eli. He even got a huge tattoo of a Hawk on his back. It was kind of cool though.
Miguel, Hawk, and Aisha have been training for something called The All Valley, and Miguel sometimes would practice his moves on me at his apartment. We hung out every Thursday's after school.
Of course I still made time for Demetri. We would spend our study periods together in the library where thankfully, Kyler never bothered us again after Miguel's fight in the cafeteria.
Robby tried to remember to hang out with me as much as he could, but he gets caught up in whatever lesson Mr. LaRusso is teaching him. I tried not to get mopey about it because he's so happy to have found a non criminally involved activity, and I was happy for him. I enjoyed listening to him talk about his karate sessions.
I also knew that I should probably be jealous that he's spending all of his time at the beautiful Sam LaRusso's place, but I knew that he wouldn't do that to me again.
I cringed at the memory.
Sam, on the rare occasions that I talked to her, was really nice. Miguel had told her what I was planning to do that day in the cafeteria and she thanked me with much gratitude. And now that Miguel and her are official, we texted every now and then. Miguel seemed really happy with her and I enjoyed the effort I made to connect with her. Aisha was still slightly bitter towards her, though I didn't blame her one bit.
Aisha and I have also became close. Every since she started hanging out with the guys because of cobra Kai, we began to talk and would sometimes have sleep overs. It was nice to be around another girl. The guys don't always enjoy "girl talk".
Today the gang and I hung out at the park. Miguel, Demetri, and Aisha all sat on a bench while Hawk practiced his karate moves behind them with another kid from the dojo but was still close enough to listen and talk to us. Robby was too busy at the skate park to join us. It upsets me that he's not willing to meet my friends, but pushing it would only make him fight against it more.
I laid on the ground in front of the bench with my legs propped up on in between Demetri and Miguel with my feet barely hanging over the top while I stared up at the sky, sighing at the conversation every now and then. It was such a beautiful, clear day and I was enjoying soaking up every bit of vitamin D I could get.
"Come on, eat something. It'll make you feel better." Demetri whined.
"I told you, I'm not hungry man." Miguel retorted. I opened my eyes and looked towards them.
"I still think you're over reacting."
"I'm not over reacting dude. I know what I saw."
"Alright, so you saw her eating dinner with some chode." Hawk says before kicking the kid in the face. With a satisfied look on his face, he walked over and leaned behind the bench in between Aisha and Miguel. "It was probably just her brother or something."
"Maybe even her cousin." I shrugged, going back to looking up at the sky. I felt someone's eyes on me but I paid no attention to it; the sky was too pretty.
"No way, brothers don't look at their sisters like that. Or cousins."
"Depends on which part of the country you're in." Demetri mumbles more to himself, causing me to laugh and playfully nudge him with my knee.
