Garou leaned forward and his movements were definitely different from his usual style. He quickly darted from tree to tree. It looked familiar, like watchdog man's style. Anyway, the sudden change baffled Genos and Garou snuck up on him and took his arm off. Garou had gotten too cocky and Genos' severed arm contorted and grabbed Garou's throat. It used some kind of booster and pinned Garou into a tree. He was then tied onto the tree's trunk, unable to move. They started talking and Genos said something that obviously upset Garou and he broke the tree he was tied down to. Then, he started to transform. One of his eyes turned red and his once silver hair turned into a reddish orange. Genos readied himself to fire at Garou but I ran up and stopped him before he could. As me and Genos squabbled, a weird sunflower creature came out of the ground and began talking to the transformed hero hunter. Genos ended up killing the monsters in an instant and readied himself to blast Garou again. They exchanged a few words and Garou just stood there as if he wanted to get hit with the projectile. Before Genos could shoot him, Bang came out of the sky and kicked Garou in the face, sending him flying into a tree. Then Bang's brother arrived and killed a few of the remaining monsters before telling Bang to let him handle it. Before they could fight, I ran to my injured, beastly crush as fast as I could and looked him in the eyes.
"Wh- Y/n?!" Bang said in a shocked voice. I ignored him and kept my attention on Garou.
"It's not too late to stop this. Please Garou, you're injured. Let me take you home and treat your wounds. I'll even cook any and everything you want. Just come home with me. I can't keep watching you fight like this." I pleaded. He looked up at me with warm yet solemn eyes.
"Y/n... you need to go. Just let me do this. I promise I'll come back to you afterward. Then you can lecture me all you want. All I ask is that you get somewhere safe and wait for me to get back." He sounded so... serious, so sincere, so mature. He cupped my cheeks and looked deeply into my tear filled eyes. My gut told me he meant what he was saying and I knew I could trust him, "I don't want to lose you for good this time. Especially because of a fight that I didn't want to back down from."
All I could do was cry and nod at him. I trusted him. I trusted every word he said. Something was telling me that it was going to be okay. That he'd come back to me, regardless of how injured he was.
"Garou I swear if you don't come back... I'll kill you a second time you stubborn idiot." I said through my teeth.
"I promise I'll be back," he flashed a warm, loving, genuine smile that I had never seen before at me. My eyes widened a little when he kissed my forehead. That only made me want to fight for him to stop fighting and just come home with me. But I respected his wishes and returned the same smile, one last time. He nodded and looked back at Bang, "Thanks for giving me a minute, Old fart. Now, where were we?"
The two of them got into their battle stances as I ran and watched from afar. Garou dashed at Bang but was met with a barrage of punches all over his body. Bang didn't hold back at all as he pummeled Garou with no intention of letting him get a single hit in. Once Bang punched him into the ground, causing it to break, Garou dodged the next punch and dashed away using the other style from earlier, slightly shocking Bang. He ran away on all fours only to get a knee in the face from Bang's brother, sending him flying and crashing into the ground, rolling in purple monster fluid. He stayed on the ground for a bit but got it together and stood up. The brothers shared a few words then started mercilessly beating Garou at the same time. Bang kicked Garou in the face sending him back a little but he was still on his feet. The pair then dashed at Garou with the same stance which meant they were going to use the same move to finish him. In a turn of events, Garou dodged and separated the pair, sending them flying a bit and causing dust to rise from the ground.
'Holy shit... I didn't think he could get stronger... I might actually have to leave now. It's getting too dangerous.'
Before any of us could react, a huge bird swooped down from the sky and picked Garou up. It flew away as Genos used both of his arms to blow up the bird and Garou, making me yell in protest. Genos fired his cannons and the projectiles merged, becoming one, and was heading straight to the escaping pair. Genos' shot was blocked by a huge centipede monster that had shot out of the ground. The three men jumped up as the ground separated and they quickly saved me and the unconscious heroes. I watched from Genos' arms as Garou got further and further away, held in the talons of the huge bird. With a sigh, I looked at a distressed and disappointed Genos. I'm not sure what disappointed him, me distracting him from hitting Garou or the fact that a huge bird kidnapped Garou or that his shot was blocked by a huge centipede monster which was inevitably another problem. Maybe it was a combination of the three. Geez, who knows what goes through that cyborg's head? All I know is that I've had too much action for one day.
