I woke up at 6 as usual despite going to sleep at 3 am. I slept in almost my full uniform a few hours ago. Since it was time for me to start going to work, I was just gonna brush my teeth, wash my face, and put my shirt on. When I sat up, my first thought was to keep my shirt by my side. After a few minutes of just feeling around without looking, it was not where it had been last night. By now my feeling changed from neutral with a hint of sadness to irritation. My fists clenched in frustrated. I got up and looked for my work shirt. I looked after brushing my teeth and washing my face. I ended up finding it Garou's room. Not only was it in his room... it was in his ARMS. My face frowned and snatched the shirt on it's own. I put it on and slammed the door to the apartment. My face was in a frown and my only emotion was anger throughout my whole walk. When I got to the restaurant, Hiro was already there and I can tell he knew someone was wrong.
"Hey Y/n. What's wrong?"
"Dammit Hiro. I was trying not to cry." I said as Hiro hugged me and I cried into his chest. He held me and rubbed my back while whispering 'it's gonna be okay'. I shakily told Hiro what happened and how I felt and he surprisingly understood every word no matter how many times my speech messed up. He held my cheeks and moved my face to look him in his eyes.
"You're beautiful, okay? You're the nicest person in the world. You're funny, kind, optimistic, determined, smart, cunning, and an amazing person. Don't waste your time on someone who doesn't appreciate you or care about you. You deserve so much better." Hiro said as his head slowly inched toward me. Before anything happened, the door opened. We both turned around startled to see Garou standing with a pissed off look on his face. He walked over and roughly put his arm around my shoulder.
"Who the hell are you and what the hell do you think you're doing to her?" Garou questioned. I pushed him off of me and glared at him.
"What the hell do YOU think YOU'RE doing?"
"Well you snatched a shirt out of my arms and slammed the door to the apartment which obviously woke me up. What was that all about?"
"One, it was my shirt. I need it for work. Two, I don't want be around you right now so please... leave... go fight some heroes or something." I said with a few tears falling down my cheeks.
"W-what? Y/n, what do you-" He started as he put his hands on my cheeks to wipe the tears. I pushed his hands off of me again.
"I... just can't be around you for a while, okay? It'll only be for a few days. You can stay in the apartment. I'll be back sooner rather than later."
"Why? What happened? Did someone threaten you? Did I do something? I can fix whatever it is please just tell me what's wrong."
"Go."
"But-"
"Please..." I looked up at Garou with eyes full of sorrow. He got the message and left. Hiro told me it was okay for me to stay in the back, where we go on break, for however long I needed.
Garou's P.O.V
Why was she acting like this? Why did she push me away? Why couldn't she look me in the eyes? Why doesn't she want to be near me? Did I scare her away? Was I too clingy? Did I hurt her feelings? What happened?
My mind was full of questions like these. My vision blurred a bit and my face grew hot. Instead of letting the tears fall and I kept them in. It's for the best. She made me weak anyway. I walked around the city with my hands in my pocket and my head low. There was nobody good to fight anymore. My passion wasn't giving me the motivation it usually did right now. As I was walking, I heard two voices. It sounded like King and that baldy. I couldn't help but get pissed and a little energized as I dashed towards them and when that egg head kicked me into an abandoned building.*time skip to when he wakes up*
My body unconsciously moved to the kid's hideout as my eyes watered. The hideout was empty when I got there. Fortunately for me, there was a couch in the medium sized shack which meant I could rest. It didn't take long for my sleep to be disrupted. The kid was in the shack trying to get my attention. Turns out he was in there because his friends wanted him to get me out of their little hideout. I gave the kid a little pep talk about not letting people push him around and Y/n bursted in, immediately shutting the flimsy metal door behind her. She was out of breath and supported herself on her knees while she panted. She looked up at me with sad eyes and a sigh. I looked away as I clenched my fist to keep myself from holding her.
"Garou... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been a bitch. You didn't even do anything... I was just heartbroken because I heard you flirting with a girl in the alley one day. I got jealous and took my anger out on you when I shouldn't have," She apologized with a wavering voice. All I could do right now was hug her. She hugged back and looked up at me, "Garou... please don't fight those heroes. I know that you know they're out there but please. You're injured." She begged. I ruffled her hair and smiled at her.
"Hey kid, do you have that hero book?"
"I have it. But why?"
"I need to take a look."
