Garou's POV

I woke up next to Y/n every day, well whenever I actually fall asleep. Probably because the doctors and nurses are too afraid to ask me to leave. As long as I can stay with Y/n I don't care. I never realized how much she meant to me until now. She's been like this for a week. But I know she'll wake up. She has to. What am I do without her?

I stood up from the barely cushioned hospital chair and stretched. Then, I walked out of Y/n's room to see the heroes from yesterday, Metal bat and the little girl, and Y/n's family. Her mom ran up to me and hugged me. I see where she gets it from now.

"Garou! Have they said anything yet? Will she be okay?" Her mother worried. I just nodded at her with a small smile.

"She will. She's been through a lot this week. I think you'll feel better if you talk to her. She's not awake yet but she can hear you." I put my hand on her shoulder and she nodded.

"Thank you." She pulled away and rushed into Y/n's room.

She was in there for a few minutes. Then minutes turned into hours. After she was done, other people started going in and talking to her. The doctors went in and did some kind of mini surgery while I slept in the lobby. I must've been asleep for a day because when I walked in there she was gone. My heart started beating out of my chest and I frantically looked around her room. The bed was made, floor was spotless, everything was placed perfectly. It was neat and tidy, as if she was never there. My fists clenched and my feet were dragging on the ground as I walked out of her room. One of the doctors who took care of her came up to me and told me that she woke up today. He also said that her mother took her home and that she had been trying to get a hold of me but they were too afraid to wake me up. They told me not to worry and that she was fine, which put my heart at ease.

This was probably the first time Y/n didn't have to nag me about fighting heroes. There were so many out, but I wasn't in the mood to fight for once. As I strolled through the park, I saw a family having a picnic under a tree. I smiled, not because of the family, but because I imagined me and Y/n having a family of our own. I then realized I couldn't delay seeing her and started running to her apartment.

I bursted into Y/n's apartment and saw her standing up, well trying to anyway. She fell from the sudden gust of wind and the loud sound of the door hitting the nearby wall. She looked at me in surprise and tried to stand up. I smirked and softly closed the door before walking over to her. She had already managed to stand and was looking at me with a slightly less shocked expression.

"You know, that's the softest you've ever closed my door. I don't know how to feel about that." She smiled

"Well, I didn't want to scare you a second time with the same door. I'd really be a monster."

"No, you'd be a monster if you didn't watch this new series with me. It's about..." I wasn't listening because I zoned out. She was still so full of life even though she was in this mess because of me. The way her eyes lit up and held their warmth hadn't changed when she looked at me. I wonder how long it'll take for her to realize how much of a monster I am. I don't deserve her kindness or love or anything, not after the danger I've put her in, "Hello? Earth to Garou... are you listening?" She waved her hand in front of my face.

"Yeah. Let's watch the movie already. I hope you didn't see it already because I don't want you to spoil it. It sounds really good." I sat on the couch as she got the movie ready.

About an hour into the movie, Y/n had fallen asleep with her head on my lap. She just layed on me and I didn't make her move. It was a nice feeling, knowing that she was still comfortable with me. She's never done this before so maybe she's more comfortable with me now. I can't even begin to try and think about what goes through that mind of her's. Y/n looked so innocent and peaceful as she slept on my lap. That walking must've taken a lot out of her. My fingers ran through her hair while I was lost in thought. She missed the rest of the movie, and a whole other movie that I put on. She woke up after the movie ended and had to use the restroom. I helped her walk to the restroom, no matter how much she protested. It took her a while, but I was patient with her. I spent the rest of the day helping her move around her apartment and watching whatever she wanted.

It was finally night and Y/n just finished taking a shower. I helped her get in bed and made sure she was comfortable. I still had guilty thoughts running through my mind and decided to leave for the night. It was like she knew what I was planning and she grabbed my hand before I was out of her reach.

"Stay. Please." She begged with her eyes more than she did with her voice. I hesitated and thought for a few seconds before smiling at her.

"Alright." I climbed into bed with her and instinctively cuddled her as close as possible.
