16. Finding Out The Truth

Hunter POV

We arrive home and everyone comes running outside, Fallon steps out the car holding Nova and her mum puts her hand over her mouth and cries.

Catherine – Oh my gosh! She...she is the spitting image of you Fallon, how you looked as a baby.

Catherine pulls out her phone and shows us a picture of Fallon and she's right Nova is the spitting image of Fallon.

Fallon – Can we get inside, it's getting cold and I don't want Nova catching a cold.

She walks past everyone and they all look at me in shock.

Ace – Nova?

I smile.

Hunter – Nova Stone.

I see my mum smile so big at me and hug me.

Ace – What made Fallon think of that name?

Catherine – The meaning behind it is beautiful. It's meaning is newness or others see it as great energy from a star. It's Latin.

Salvatore – While that's all interesting and Nova is a lovely name, how come your all back unharmed?

I explain to them everything and said I needed a sit down with Brayleigh.

Hunter – Where is Bray?

Zoey – In the kitchen.

I walking into the house and past Fallon and into the kitchen and see Bray eating, she looks at me.

Brayleigh - What's wrong?

Hunter – You better start talking!

Brayleigh – About what?

Hunter – About how much you actually do remember about being kidnapped and oh I don't know Scott or should I say Chris!

Her face goes white.

Brayleigh – How...

Hunter – How do I know? Well he was the one who we just met and they gave us Fallon baby. So it makes me believe you know more than your letting on! Now talk!

Brayleigh – I don't remember much! I swear!

Hunter – Well you and him seem pretty close from his understanding considering he loves you oh and he told me to tell you once he is out of there he will come for you.

She goes red.

Brayleigh – I told you the last 2 years I wasn't drugged because I was breastfeeding Antonio, after I had Antonio, Chris spoke to me now and then explained to me in secrecy he was an undercover cop from the same police department I was in, they brought him in to find me and that meant him going uncover with Matthew.

Hunter – Why did the police department never tell us considering we work with them?

Brayleigh – They wanted to keep it under the hat.

Hunter – So all this time they knew the body wasn't your?

Brayleigh – I don't know but more than likely because they would of done an autopsy.

I sit down and hold my head in my hands.

Brayleigh – I think they wanted you to believe it was me so it wouldn't make Matthew sense you knew.
