40. Into The Darkness

Hunter POV

We pull up outside and the little ones come running out, Nova runs right up to Fallon and what takes me by surprise is Marlow runs up to me and hugs me, I smile and bend down and hug her back which cheered me up.

Marlow - I'm so glad your back and safe!

Hunter – We will always make it back to you all.

Marlow – No luck in finding Ariel?

Hunter – Unfortunately not but don't worry about it sweetheart.

She nods her head and smiles at me.

Marlow – Me and Cherry made dinner for everyone.

Hunter – Thank you sweetheart, let's go eat.

We all walk inside and Fallon stops me just before we go inside.

Fallon – What happened back there? Your all quiet and look like you've seen a ghost, please talk to me.

Hunter - Let's eat first, you won't feel like eating if I told you now.

She looks at me with fear in her eyes.

Hunter – I know your scared and worried but trust me please.

She nods her head and kisses my cheek.

Fallon – I will listen for now.

She walks off and turns back and winks at me and walks back inside the house, we all sit in the kitchen and eat but I can't really eat anything so I sit there pushing the food around on my plate and then I decided to drop my fork and everyone looks at me, I stand up.

Hunter – Meet me in the office when your all finished, minus the children.

I walk to the office and pour myself a big glass of whiskey and sit down, I have my back to the door but I hear it open and I can tell it's Fallon, I turn and see her there smiling at me.

Fallon – Before you say it I finished my dinner, so spill!

I let out a huff and point to the sofa for her to sit down and she does and I go over and sit next to her.

Hunter – What I'm about to tell you will come as a shock and I'm sorry it has to be me who tells you, I feel physically sick at what I saw and also I hurt inside we haven't found Ariel.

Fallon – Just tell me already please!

She is pleading with me so I nod my head.

Hunter – The inside looked like a normal house instead of a church, living room, kitchen you name it. Me and your brother went downstairs and found a corridor that had 4 doors, one had a room with dead animals in from testing on them, another was a lab that had all testing equipment and medicines or drugs and the other two room is what made me nearly sick.

These 2 rooms had bodies in, bodies that had no limbs attached or head attached and cut off arms, legs, feet and hands everywhere. Either the towns people are cannibals or Matthew has taken up a new hobby.

She nods her head and grabs the buckets beside the sofa and pukes her guts up while I rub her back.

Hunter – Sorry.

Fallon - It's fine just gross.

Hunter – I get it, once we found the place we heard a static voice come over on a intercom and someone spoke but I couldn't tell the voice because it sounded differently, they probably used a voice changer but the person said we found there hobby so either they enjoy cutting people up or they generally cut them up, eat them or sell them to food companies as pretend animal meat.
