Percy's eyes opened slowly to the wooden walls of his old bedroom on the Argo II. The ship rocked side to side a bit as Percy tried to sit up in bed. Pain shot through his left arm, and he winced as a result.

"I've redone the bandages, your arm will be fine in a few days. Your hand, though, will take longer." A familiar voice spoke as the girl came to sit on the foot of the bed.

Percy only nodded his thanks, considering his throat was far too parched to speak. As if though she'd read his mind, the girl quickly pressed a glass against his lips. The liquid slid down his throat, sending waves of satisfaction coursing through him.

"How much longer?" Percy asked the girl, he wanted to make Luke pay for what he'd done to their kingdom.

"Maybe even months." She said grimly.

"Jeez, Allerano. Who died?"

"A lot of people." Reyna shook her head sadly.

"I heard. I'm sorry about Hylla." Percy offered.

"I'm sorry about your dad." Reyna gave Percy's hand a reassuring squeeze.

"Yeah, but that's why we're going back, right? To show Luke who's boss." He said, a hint of revenge in his eyes, but it was overshadowed by his thirst for justice.

"Luke? I thought Thalia had you kidnapped." Reyna said, arching an eyebrow.

"No. He's been manipulating her, she- she didn't want to support him. Think about it, if Thalia's queen then that makes Luke king." Percy reasoned, looking imploring at Reyna.

"We'll talk about this later with Jason and Annabeth. Now, can you walk?" Reyna asked, getting up from Percy's bed.

Percy gently shifted his legs and found he could move at the expense of a small spurt of pain shooting up his now weak body. "Yes."

"Shoot. Bianca and Rachel?" Percy asked Reyna.

"They're here too and so is Nico." She responded as Percy let out a relieved sigh. After receiving quite a lot of both emotional and physical support from Reyna, Percy finally managed to make it above deck.

The wind whipped through Annabeth's neatly brushed hair as she slowly turned the wheel toward the mainland. She felt giddy and lightheaded at Percy's return. Happiness seemed to bubble like lava inside her, weird analogy, right? Annabeth definitely wasn't thinking clearly.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Leo who dropped after readjusting the sails. "Sails set toward Olympus, Lieutenant." The boy saluted before heading below deck.

Annabeth kept her gaze fixed on the calm water before her, keeping a very strict eye on the horizon when shuffling and panting caught her attention. She swirled around to see Percy limping toward her.

Annabeth didn't mean to, but she surged forward. Percy rushed towards her at the same time. Percy threw his arms around her. They kissed and, for a moment, nothing else mattered. An asteroid could have hit the earth and wiped out all life, and Annabeth wouldn't have cared.

Percy smelled of ocean air. His lips were salty.

Seaweed Brain, she thought giddily.

Percy pulled away and studied her face. "Gods, I never thought-"

Annabeth grabbed his wrist and flipped him over her shoulder. She put her knee on his chest and pushed her forearm against Percy's throat. A white-hot lump of anger expanded in her chest, a tumor of worry and bitterness she had been carrying since he disappeared.

"If you ever leave me again," she said, her eyes stinging. "I swear to all the gods -"

Percy had the nerve to laugh. Suddenly, the lump of heated emotions melted inside Annabeth.

"Consider me warned." Percy said, "I missed you too."

Annabeth rose and helped him to his feet. She wanted to kiss him again so badly, but she managed to restrain herself.

"Percy, I'm so sorry. You were hurt, I shouldn't have done -"

But Annabeth was cut off by Percy shushing her. "Wise girl, it's fine, really. I've seen worse. "

"But, Percy, your arm-" she started again.

"Annabeth, please, I'm fine. Come on, I want to talk to you." Percy said, grabbing her hand and leading her to the railing.

"How are you?" He asked as the two moved toward the railing.

"I'm -" Annabeth was about to say she was fine but when she realized who she was talking to, she immediately thought better of it. "My mom, Percy. She's in a coma, she might never wake up. I'm scared, what if she dies?" Annabeth admitted, her throat became dry and her eyes the contrary.

Percy seemed to notice her worry because he immediately engulfed her in a hug. "No matter what I happen, I'm here for you, okay?" He promised, giving her a reassuring squeeze.
Annabeth resisted the urge to kiss him and only nodded. Percy kissed her forehead and wrapped an arm around her. And for a while, they stood there, staring into the ocean.

"I'm sorry about your mom." "I'm sorry about your dad."They both said at the same time. Then, they promptly burst into laughter.

"Hey Percy?" Annabeth asked after a while, snuggling closer into him.

"Hmm." He responded, his eyes still focused on their reflection, or as simple people like to call it, the sea.

"I missed you." Annabeth said, smiling.

Percy wanted to tell her the same thing, but 'I missed you' really didn't cover it. When he was away, he kept himself alive almost solely by thinking of Annabeth.

"Percy, I also want you to know, I love you." Annabeth said nervously, fiddling with the hem of her baggy button up. Percy pulled her into a hug.

"I love you too, Annabeth." he whispered back. Annabeth smiled quietly to herself and pulled away. She only had time to take in Percy's beautiful eyes before she pressed her lips to his. She wanted to talk about Rachel too, but her desire to not spoil this moment was overwhelming.

"And I'm in love with you, Percy." She smiled and kissed him again.

"What does this make us?" Percy asked, taking her hand and turning toward the waves again. Annabeth's insides bubbled with excitement. Finally, she thought. I've been waiting for this for so long.

"Whatever you want us to be." She replied, rubbing circles on the back of his hand with her thumb.

"Us."
