𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 𝖷𝖨𝖵

Reyna and Annabeth split to go looking for Thalia as Jason, Percy and Piper took it upon themselves to find Luke. Percy prowled the familiar dark corridors, heading toward the king's quarters. Piper maintained a secure hold on each of the boys' hands, forming a human chain.

Soon, the trio stopped outside the door to Luke's bedroom. Piper gently placed her ear against the hardwood, trying to hear something, but not a sound was coming from the room.

"He must be in the throne room already." Jason whispered to the other two. Very dim sunlight peered through the large windows, informing the children that dawn was upon them.

Annabeth and Reyna didn't find Thalia in her mother's room. So, they decided the throne room was their best bet. But, what they weren't planning for, was a reunion.

Reyna accidentally bumped into a muscular man near the entrance to the throne room. She attempted to knock him out with a spin kick, but he sidestepped and stepped forward into the light as Annabeth and Piper silently laughed and Percy shook his head.

Jason stood there, awkwardly shifting his feet but smiling nonetheless. Reyna was in shock how her team managed to maintain a positive attitude in a dire situation.

"Did you find Luke?" Annabeth asked as Reyna apologized and kissed Jason's cheek for good measure. Jason only laughed at the gesture and assured his best friend that her kung-fu was indeed, 'sweet.'

Percy shook his head and informed the girls of their encounter. Then a noise sounded from the shut throne room and all five children turned to see the white wooden door.

Jason pushed it open but he was unaware. Unaware of the man standing behind them as the kids entered. Unaware of the blade glistening in his hand. Unaware as the man brought the knife in a downwards motion, burying it in not the back of Jason Grace but... a chest?
