The black lake is one of the the best places for i-can't-tell-to-anyone thoughts and feelings, especially when it's midnight.

Not that it's new, but it still hurts everytime he ignores you and refuses to even talk to you for a few days, saying that "i don't want you to see me that way."

Full moons are painful and all you want to do is help & comfort him. but today, again, he averted his eyes as soon as you showed up at the hospital wing, not even botheting to look at you or talk.

A light rain begins to fall. you don't have the energy to walk back to the castle.

"at least nobody sees my tears when it rains. gosh, he's so stubborn." you mumble to yourself as you write something in your diary and finally decide to stand up when a sound catches your attention. you look around to finally see that it's a paper, shaped like a bird and enchanted to fly.

It sits on your right shoulder. "so it's probably for me. nobody is around anyway." you think to yourself and finally open the paper.

"drop everything now and meet me at the astronomy tower, in the pouring rain." reading the first word is enough to make you realize it's from Remus.

10 minutes later, you finally arrive there, panting and looking around to make sure nobody's followed you there, but not so sure how you've even made it to the tower so fast.

'that's what loving this crazy handsome man does to me...' you think to yourself as you look around to find him.

The rain gets heavier, but the place seems to be quite empty and there's no sign of him, yet.

After a few minutes, just when you're completely soaked and want to go back inside, you feel two strong arms wrapping around you tightly from behind. you immediately turn around to face him, realizing that he's as soaked as you & water is dripping down his face.

You want to cup his face, trace those fragile new scars & kiss each of them, but his earlier actions make you do the opposite, so you just fold your arms and stare at him, sternly & stubbornly.

"you've been here the whole time?" you ask and he nods, with an innocent smile playing on his lips.

"fine then. fancy getting soaked. it's such a beautiful night." you look away and try to show that you're angry at him, but he suddenly picks you up & pins you against the nearest wall, catching you off guard and making you wrap your legs around him for extra support.

"what the-" you gasp at the sudden movement and he chuckles before talking, for the first time in last 2 days:

"y/n, I'm sorry. we'll talk about that later. I genuinely promise. now be a good girl and look at me."

"ok ok. apology accepted." you finally look at him, both of you now focused on each other's eyes.

"love, why being angry when you know what to do to make the pain go away?" he murmurs softly as he tightens his grip around you as a you're-mine-never-forget-that sign.

"oh Remus John Lupin, can you just let me be mad at you for a few minutes?" you soften and smile at him, completely forgetting about the heavy rain and the cold air surrounding you.

"no love. we both know that you can never be mad at me, even for a single second." he replies with a proud chuckle, reluctantly pulling away for air.

"right. I'm just captivated by you. but don't forget your promise." you whisper breathlessly in his ear and run your fingers through his rain-sodden hair, wondering if he has noticed that you've dropped your bag and books next to the lake after reading his letter...

'little does he know what I've written in my diary about him...' Is your last thought of the night before continuing with your insatiable habit... melting into the sweet touch of his lips on yours.

'you'
And just like that,
the greatest poem was written, in one word'
