So, this turned out to be pretty long, because I didn't want it to be like "oh, love at first sight. Here's my soulmate." and Remus means so much to me. Not edited, and sorry for any typos. This is only part one and covers up the beginning of a schoolyear until Christmas. Read the note in the end.

How can you miss someone you've never met?
Cause I need you now but I don't know you yet...

***

You didn't know how or when everything in your ashen life started to change. Or worse, you didn't know how to deal with the changes.

It was annoying and severe. Pain was a permanent part of these unexpected changes.

Right from the start.

Until now. Now that you were in Hogwart's train, heading to somewhere you didn't have the energy nor the desire to be at.

Your head was spinning with unspoken thoughts and unanswered questions as you stared at somewhere outside the compartment.

Drops of rain were beating against the window and the train was speeding up by each passing moment. It felt like it wanted to take you to Hogwarts faster than ever and force you to start your last year even though you weren't eager to do it at all. No one was waiting for you in that huge castle. No one was bound to be yours.

No one was your soulmate.

The only thing that was yours was pain.

Invisible pain.

And you knew how it tasted. You'd learned how to cope with it little by little. It no longer surprised you when the pain got worse as you got older. It only had one remedy... One remedy and you hadn't fount it yet.

Hannah, your best friend, was the first one to talk with you about soulmates in the Wizarding World. You remembered back in second year when you were in the same train when she explained it excitedly. There were fascinating stories about how everyone could find their other half and the thing was that, there was always a unique way for each couple and no one else could see the signs but them.

United soulmates, she would say.

Untouchable soulmate, you would think.

Hannah herself had found her soulmate on sixth year. It happened on a Quidditch game when Antony (one of your classmates) fell off his broom and broke his leg. Hannah had felt a terrible ache in her own leg, and simple as that, it was the day she found her old crush was her other half too. She's been head over hills afterwards.
