"What?" Sophie asked. "I know they're not your original mom and dad but their names are Grady and Edaline." Keefe said. "But-my mom and dad's name WAS Grady. Well actually just my dad." Sophie said. "My mom's name wasn't Edaline though." She said. "Hm." Keefe said, knocking. "Hello?" A male opened the door. "Oh! Hi Keefe!" A woman said. "Come in, come in!" She said. "This is Sophie." Keefe said. "Sophie, this is Grady and Edaline." Keefe said. "Oh um hi." Sophie said. "And why is she here?" Edaline asked. "Umm do you think you could be her guardian?" Keefe asked. "We'll have to adopt her then." Grady said. Someone furiously bagan banging on the door. Grady opened it and Kath was there.

"Let go!" Sophie screeched, trying to pry Kath's hand off her wrist. "You are a horrible guardian!" Keefe blurted out. "So Grady and Edaline will be her guardian instead!"

"That's not up to you!" Kath snapped. She dragged Sophie out of the house. "Wait! No!" Keefe shouted, running out of the house. Kath was quicker. She took Sophie to her room (the attic) and threw her on the floor. Kath glared at her and left. Austin and Kara barged into the attic and laughed at her. They both grabbed her on each arm and took her to the tiniest closet there was. Austin and Kara shoved her into the cleaning closet and locked the door. "LET ME OUT!" Sophie screamed, banging on the door. "Shut that girl up. She's giving me a headache." Kath shouted. "Shut up if you want to get out." Kara growled. Sophie zipped her mouth shut. After 1 hour, Austin swung open the door. "Make dinner."

"What if I don't want to?" Sophie asked. Austin ripped out a piece of paper. "Okay. That's 30 minutes more in the closet for you..."

"What?! No!" Sophie said. "And that was another 30 minutes!" Austin cackled. Sophie tugged out a loose eyelash and went down to cook.

"Dinner is ready!" Sophie said. "Okay." Austin said, coming down. "Follow me. I have a gift for you."

"Wait. really?" Sophie asked, following Austin up. When she reached to the top of the stairs, Austin grabbed Sophie and pushed her into the closet again. "Hah! You actually thought I had a present?! Weirdo!" Austin laughed, going down to eat. Sophie slid down to the floor and began crying. "Why is my life like this?" She whispered.

An hour later, Austin opened the door. It was night time now and Sophie ate the leftovers from Kath, Austin, and Kara.

Sophie's POV

Everyone was in their bedrooms and I flopped on my bed and called Keefe from the home-phone. I had a plan.

I woke up to the sound of an alarm. It was midnight. I quickly tiptoed out of the attic, outside. I then followed the instructions Keefe had ordered. Okay. From my house to the left until I find a green sign. I thought. I turned left and saw the sign. Then, I turned right and saw a park. Keefe was leaning on a pole. "Keefe!" I shouted. "Oh. Hey Foster." Keefe greeted me. "What kind of torture did they do next?" Keefe jokes. "Uhhh you don't wanna know." I answered. "So...running away huh?" Keefe asked. "Yeah...I just wanted to say thank you..." I said. "For what?" He asked. "You're the only one who looked after me." I said. "Y'know...you could just stay with Grady and Edaline." Keefe softly said. "No... I don't wanna pressure them." I told him. Keefe was silent. "When are you gonna be back?" He asked. "I dunno...when I'm ready." I said. "Bye Keefe." I said, with tears in my eyes. "See you Foster. I'll be waiting." Keefe answered.

3 years later...

Keefe's POV

"Isn't she The Girl Who Ran Away?" I heard a group of girls say. I widened my eyes and turned towards them. "Hey girls." I said. They looked at me and started blushing. "H-hi! Can I have your autograph?"

I sighed. I've been here for 3 years and they still do this. I mean...I can't blame them. "Uh maybe another time. But...who were you just talking about?" I asked. "You know the Girl Who Ran Away?" A girl in the group said. "Yeah." I answered. "Well, someone said they saw her working at the Cafe just across the street." She said. "Now can I have the autograph?"

I quickly signed and ran off to the cafe. Someone caught my arms and pulled me back to school. "What about school?" Fitz asked. "What about school?" I asked. "I always ditch anyway." I said, running to the cafe. I saw a blonde haired girl walk out. "Foster!" I grabbed her arm and turned her around. I took a look at her face. It was not Foster. "Sorry." I mumbled, going up to the counter. "Do you have a blonde haired girl, with brown eyes and gold flecks?" I asked. "Yep. You just described me." The cashier said. I looked up to her and gasped. "Foster!!" I said. Foster looked at me too and widened her eyes. "Keefe?" She softly said. "What-when did you get back?" I asked. "A few days ago." Foster said. "Why didn't you tell me?!"

"I just wanted to settle in." Foster said.

Normal POV

"Sorry boss!" Sophie said, running outside with Keefe. "I knew I shouldn't have hired a student." Her boss said.

Sophie and Keefe sat on a bench, drinking a smoothie. "Do people still ask for pictures and autographs?" Sophie asked. Keefe nodded and Sophie laughed. "OH! MY! GOSH!" A woman said. She pulled out a camera and began taking pictures of Keefe. Sophie closed her eyes again as the memory flooded back. "No flash please!" Keefe said. The women left and Keefe asked, "are you okay?"

"Yeah." Sophie said. "Where did you even go?" Keefe asked. Sophie was about to answer when she saw 3 orange headed people, walking in the same street they were in. She widened her eyes and hid her face.
