it was the aftermath of the shooting and they were all dealing with emotional and physical trauma in the wake of the deadly rampage of a vengeful gunman.

the doctors had to speak with dr perkins, a trauma counsellor who was brought in the recovery to assess each doctors readiness to come back to work.

shepherd was back for a return, so they all went into the main area of the hospital and they all applaud him.
"thank you!" derek smiled, "thank you very much" he said again. "it's great to be back. first of all i'd like to thank dr webber for stepping up in my absence." derek said, they all applaud again. "i'm grateful for all of you, for all of your support during my recovery. thank you. it's great to be back as chief. i'm grateful for the-" he took a pause and looked down at the scan he was holding. "i'm sorry that was a lie, that's what people say and the truth is i hate being chief, i hate it" derek admitted.

grace looked up at jackson confused, and he exchanged the same look.

"chief webber, chief webber is our chief and i'm sorry, but this giant- sorry i gotta go look at this cord" derek said. "oh my, i'm sorry but i quit" derek said walking back down the stairs.

"what in the-" grace whispered to jackson.

they then saw bailey laughing, and grace joined in.

grace always laughed in awkward situations, it was a bad habit of hers.

𝑭𝑳𝑨𝑺𝑯𝑩𝑨𝑪𝑲:

the group of residents had to attend a group therapy session.

it was very awkward in there. no one was speaking, until cristina broke the silence.
"i ate a really good taco from one of those trucks by the side of the road" she said.

"when?" mer asked.

"last night, you were asleep" cristina said.

jackson joined in on the conversation. "from which truck the one on seventh?"

"now i want to go, i like tacos" alex added.

"me too" april said.

"and me" grace also said.

lexie suddenly interrupted, "i read a book about the history of mass murders in the US"

grace looked at lexie confused, whilst the rest rolled their eyes. "yeah that's the actual name of what happened to us, it was a mass murder" she explained. "you can't call it a terrorist attack because the murder weren't political nature and we weren't the victims of a serial killer because mr. clark would have had to murder several people over a period longer than 30 days in order to qualify as a serial killer and we could call it a spree killing, which is defined as killings at two or more locations with not break and pause in between because, mr clark shot that guys in his car before he got here" she took a quick breath and then carried on, "but i'm not sure that counts as a true second location, since it was so close to the hospital. which means we were a mass murder, because it happened at one place by one person and more than four people accountant"

they all looked stunned, at how much lexie said.

grace looked at dr perkins and then looked back at lexie, grace noticed that lexie's leg was bouncing the whole time, and she was fiddling with something in her hand.

grace began feeling partly worried for her best friend.

grace, meredith, cristina, lexie and jackson were all sitting the hallway.

"i dig weddings, i do a mean chicken dance" jackson said.
