"happy valentine's day" jackson whispered, as he kissed grace softly.

"happy valentine's day" she smiled, as she opened her eyes.

"follow me" he smiled, as he took her hand, and walked her into the kitchen. "you need to keep your eyes closed"

"fine" grace chuckled, as she did what she was told.

"okay. three... two... one" jackson counted down. "open"

there was a boquet of a hundred roses on the counter, along with lots of other roses dotted around the room.

"avery, what are you like?" grace excitedly said, as she jumped up and kissed him.

"i love you so much, jackson avery" she smiled.

"i love you too" he smiled back giving her another kiss. "i've got something else" he said as he went and gave her a plate of pancakes.

"pancakes!" she exclaimed, and he nodded. "thank you!" she smiled again and gave him another kiss.

"we're gonna get a zillion valen-traumas" april smiled, as she began writing. "i bet a few of them will be good surgeries for our boards"

"well, it's not st. paddy's day" alex said. "those are good traumas"

"that's true" grace agreed. "car crashes, bar brawls"

"yeah" jackson nodded in agreement.

"yeah, valentine's day is all swallowed engagement rings and guys who threw out their backs getting laid" alex said

"you're just bitter cause you don't have a date" april said.

"first of all, valentine's day isn't for having a date with some chick" alex started.

"no, it's for macking the chicks who don't have dates" he said, and grace and april turned their faces. "besides, i have to study for my boards"

"you studying already?" jackson asked him, looking nervous.

"of course, you're not?" april asked.

"jackson, i've been studying every night. you've seen me" grace chuckled. "i've been telling you to-"

"i have been" jackson said clearing his throat.

grace looked down with wide eyes, she didn't want to make it obvious. she knew he wasn't studying, no matter how many times he tried to say he was.

"who put up all this?" hunt sighed, as he looked at all of the valentine's day decorations april had put up.

"i did" april cheerfully said, with a wide grin, and then she saw hunt look up at her with a miserable face. "well, research shows that a cheerful environment reduces stress and helps patient feel more.."

she said defending herself, before owen picked up a paper teddy bear and crushed it in his hands.

"that's really not cool" grace scoffed. she thought all the decorations were sweet, but she was also in a very happy mood, since she was with jackson for valentines.

grace was not dr hunts biggest fan at the moment. she didn't care he was chief, she was mad at him. she thought it was disgusting what he yelled to cristina, especially during zola's first birthday party and richard's 10,000th surgery celebration.
