I took a step closer to her, only one step in case she was to hurt Jesse. I was not letting her get the chance to do so. Eva Miller was graceful and wore a cream pantsuit and heels. But her smile was not even close to beautiful, it was dangerous. She was so unlike Grandma Audrey, who loved her family more than anything else. But Eva, she will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

"How did you find me?" I questioned. I did not care if she saw me half-naked and dripping wet, I could destroy her in half a second. "Tell me or you turn to ash."

My grandmother laughed and it was the cruelest sound in the world. "Ah and ruin the fun? You sure are similar to my daughter, who is as boy crazy as you. And somehow are attracted to anyone but your own kind."

I seethed. "Haven't you heard? It's a new age. But you wouldn't know since you are still living in the past. I will give you some advice... get over it." My knuckles were growing white and it was a bad sign. Soon the fire will appear, I just know it. "You have done enough damage to my family."

"Look at you, Kalama. You have both Fae ears and Vampire fangs." she took a step towards me and Jesse. "Your powers are strong enough to destroy the world. Why would someone like you deserve to live?"

"Because of my amazing personality and good looks?" I asked, tilting my head to the side. "I am pretty sure that is the reason I deserve to live. Why not make everyone bow down to me for even glancing my way?" I heard Jesse stifle a laugh from behind me and I tried not to smile. "Tell me, where is your husband. I thought he would be right next to you like a little lap dog." I paused. "Ew, I did not want that picture in my head."

"Weak men like your grandfather doesn't deserve to be next to me in war." she said flatly. "I ended his suffering."

"What do you want from me?" I questioned, ignoring her confession of murdering yet another member of my family, even if he deserved it. "You came here for a purpose. Is it to finally kill me?"

Eva laughed again and I tried not to wince. In this instance, I went into Jesse's mind and spoke. My grandmother would never know my secret power. You need to run, Jesse. I will not allow her to hurt you.

"Not a chance, Princess." he replied, a low voice so she would not hear. I could not be bothered to yell at him for my power grew stronger. I stared straight ahead at Eva as she stopped laughing, giving me a deadly stare that could ruin worlds. But she would not know how I could ruin her and everything around her. I clenched my fists, fire coming out of them at full speed. At the same time, Jesse turned into a beast and dashed toward her. His growls were loud as he pounced at her, his claws digging into her scarlet hair.

Eva did not scream, did not cry out in pain. And I knew, deep in my heart, that I had to do something. Now. But I was too slow. My grandmother hid a dagger in her suit and stabbed Jesse in the ribs. I watched in slow motion as he slid off of her, turning into his human form as blood was everywhere. Just like the night my Uncle Jax was murdered.

She stood up finally and tilted her head to the side. I couldn't take it anymore, I let the fire out. I used my Vampire speed as punched her in the jaw. Burn marks formed across her face as she widened her eyes. I took many enemies in the fighting arenas, I can take her down too. But my evil grandmother knew how to fight too.

Eva pounded her head against mine, making blood come out of my lip, making me take a step back from her. I gasped at the pain but I ignored it until later. She punched my ribs, my jawline until bruises formed. My fists were clenched as I made her blood boil from the inside. She was gasping for air, for relief from the pain I was inflicting upon her. "Oh, I would love to kill you right now." I said, wiping the blood from my face. "But you are not my kill. So I will wait and savor this moment until your very last breath."

She fell down to her knees and I decided it was my chance to get Jesse out of here. He needed a healer. Now. So I went over to him and picked him up. He was barely holding on and panic set into my chest. I was not losing him now.

We stumbled out of the swimming hole together, my arm around him so he would not fall. I left a fire in my wake, making she would not follow us. Even if she was not my kill, I would make sure that she would suffer tremendously. I will make sure she will burn.

"Jesse, you need to help me a little bit," I pleaded. "You are twice the size of me and I can't carry you." He said nothing but relief set in my muscles as he used his own weight to walk slowly.

It took us only a few minutes to get to the swimming hole and only a few minutes back to my home. To the castle. Where everyone would probably be asleep. But we had a great infirmary and medicine in the world. He had to go there, even if he was a Werewolf.

I opened the castle doors with one hand and stumbled in. I held on to Jesse for dear life. "Help! Someone help me, please." I yelled at the top of my lungs. In a castle full of Vampires, I knew anyone in my family would come. I stared right next to me at Jesse as he fell to the floor. I did not have the strength to hold him up anymore. I crouched down next to him, placing a hand on his cheek. My fire was gone, I noticed and my hands were ice cold. Aeson. "Jesse, stay awake. Keep your eyes open for me."

Ace was crouched next to me, my mother and father on the other side of Jesse. My brother was holding my hand, keeping the fire at bay. "What happened?" asked my mother.

I faced her, her hand on his stab wound. She was using her healing powers on him. "What do you think happened?" I barked. "He got hurt because of me. Because my evil grandmother decided to pay a visit when I wanted to go swimming with a boy."

"His heart is growing more steadily." confessed my father, Sebastian. "We need to get him to the infirmary. Ace, help me with him." Aeson nodded his head and stood up, alongside my father. They picked Jesse up and took him to the infirmary within seconds, my mother and I following behind.

They laid him down on a clean bed as blood still leaked from his wound. I ran my hands through my hair, not being able to anything but watch my mother heal him. Tears were coming down my cheeks at full force. I did not even notice that my father was speaking to me until I saw him waving his hand at me. "Kala, you're hurt. Come sit down."

His black eyes were darkened with worry. I couldn't say anything as he led me to the bed next to Jesse. I sat down, my legs dangling from the side. Father sat next to me. "Will he be alright?" I finally asked as minutes passed.

My mother looked at me fully now, even though her blue light was still healing Jesse. "Yes, he will fully recover," she started to say. Relief went through me like a jolt of lightning. "Tell me again, Kala. What happened with my mother."

So I told her everything. When I finished, her jaw was clenched. So was everyone else's. "You two were brave." Sebastian said. "And this boy, you know him?"

"Now is not the right time for an interrogation about her male friend." Ace said, winking at me as he stood next to our mother. "She is in shock and needs to rest."

Sebastian turned to me again. He was frightened and there is little that he would be scared of. Seeing us hurt in any way is one of them. "I will talk to you later, my darling daughter. For now, get some rest as your brother instructed. We will watch over him for you."

I managed to smile, despite everything that has happened tonight. I lay down on the bed as my father tucked me as if I were a little girl again. When I was moments into a deep sleep, I spoke again. "It is all my fault. They are hurt because of me."

Darkness swept me at full force and all I saw were stars.
