Elora

I woke up in a different place, my legs tangling in the white linen sheets. It took me seconds to recall what happened, who took me to this strange place. I had so many questions, yet the biggest one was where am I? This is definitely not Earth, yet it is not a different world like Makaria.

As if she could sense that I have awoken, a door opened. I thought it was going to be my mother, the wretch that took my best friend away from me. That hurt me and my family and started a war with the whole world. But it was not her. It was her sister Margot, my aunt. I had no idea she would be here too. Yet it was not a surprise that Eva would take her sister to this place, too.

"Margot? What are you doing here?" I asked. I watched as she closed the door behind her and sat on the bed next to me. Her eyes were unreadable that I felt a pang in my chest. "Did Eva capture you too?"

"Yes." she breathed. "I will tell you everything, from start to finish. If only you promise me that you will not be angry at me for keeping this secret from you. You have to understand, she threatened me into doing so."

I let out an unsteady breath. "What is it?"

Margot closed her eyes for a moment, then opened it again. "Eva is not your mother, Elora. She never was. She just raised you while I was confined to New Orleans with no powers." she paused. "She took my powers because I was going to be Queen of the Fae. And you would be the Princess. Jasper would be the Prince."

"What are you saying to me?" I snapped.

"I am your mother, Elora. I gave birth to you and Jasper. Your healing powers are the same as mine. When you were born, she took you away from me and decided that she was going to raise you because I was mortal. And I could not help you use your powers. When Jasper was born, she decided to give him to Agnes. Eva wanted to keep you two apart. To keep all of us apart. She wanted to keep us apart in fear that if together, we would all fight her."

"You are my mother?" I asked, eyes glazing with tears. I knew what she was saying was the truth. She cannot lie. Yet I had so many questions.

"I am." she confessed. "I wanted to tell you for a long time, but I was forbidden. Yet, I tried to find a way for you to figure it out." Margot looked down at the engagement ring that Sebastian gave to me years ago. "That ring was never Eva's. In fact, she stole it away from me to keep the secret. When she died, I took it back. I gave Sebastian the idea to give it to you when he asked you to marry him. But he was clueless, also." she breathed. "I was trapped all my life by my sister. Yet, he was the one that freed me.

I touched the ring on my finger without thinking. "Who gave you this ring?"

"Your father, of course." she admitted. "He's the one true King of the Fae. Not Segovia and her family. They lied about that part. He gave me that ring when he asked me to marry him not too long ago. Oberon is your father. All your life, he has been forced to help Eva with her plans. He has been held in the dungeons and no one knows he is still alive. Not even Sebastian and the Vampires. No one except for me and my sister."

"We break him out." I said simply. "And we get out of here."

"It's not that simple, Elora." Margot replied. She was my mother, I thought. I could not grasp the idea of it. And Oberon is my Father, the King of the Fae. Which means I was Royalty. "She captured Jasper, also. He's here somewhere, along with others. Eva captured the family, Elora."

"All of us are together now. We just need to find each other. We need to find Jasper and my Father and the others, while we somehow find a way to get out of here without Eva noticing. Sounds like a plan, right?"

Margot, my mother, smiled at last. "You are my daughter."

"And you are my mother. Always."

It was true, whether I did not think about the meaning before. "What is this place?"

I looked around again and it was brighter and full of light. It felt like I was home, yet I wasn't. "We are in Faylinn. The Kingdom of the Faeries."

Oh, Gods.
