We followed behind Kellan, who managed to take the leadership role right under my feet despite my objections. All three of us were in the woods, where the Werewolves lived and protected us. Not that we needed their protection, anyway. For them, they lived outside of Ambrosia but came into town when they needed supplies. And we welcomed them with open arms, of course.

These woods were often terrifying to me if I was being honest. You wouldn't know if a deadly creature was upon you until it was too late. And yes, there were creatures that I did not dare think of roaming around at night. That is why the Werewolves changed into their animal forms during nightfall. Luckily, I had my dagger strapped to my thigh. If I needed to attack, I will.

"Are we here to see Thomas Davenport?" I suspected. "I am sorry to burst your bubble, but I am pretty sure he doesn't know where Jesse has gone off to."

Kellan turned and raised an eyebrow. "Do you not want to see him?" he paused. "That was rude of me. He is blind and cannot see you. Or he was."

That is right. Thomas was blind when Segovia, an evil Fae from the past, attacked him when she was possessing my Mother. Segovia betrayed my Father more than two hundred years ago and when he found out, he ripped her heart out with his bare hands. It was a tale that made him fearsome, including his own kind. But after the Great War, Elora healed him but not completely. Thomas can see but not that well.

I stifled a laugh, despite being afraid of the woods. It was not funny at all but I couldn't help it. "I do want to see Thomas. But I am not sure he would know where Jesse is. I mean, why would Jesse tell Thomas where he is if he is the enemy?"

"Have you forgotten your studies, Kala?" Dakota chimed in, a smirk forming on his face even in the dark. "Werewolves who are related have the ability to sense where the other is located. Even from far away. It is in their blood, just like it is in our own that we can sense when one of our kind is injured."

"I have not forgotten." I growled, punching Kota in the arm.

"Ow! That hurt."

"Good. Maybe you shouldn't explain things to me like I am stupid." I stared straight ahead, the moon in the sky being the only light we can see. "I know that Jesse and Thomas are distantly related, which means that Thomas wouldn't know exactly where his because of their blood." I turned to Dakota, who no longer showed his smirk.

I stopped talking as I saw the large house in front of me. It was simple yet elegant, made for the leader of Werewolves. Our ally and friend, who fought for my family when he didn't have to. Thomas is a hero, just like Jackson was.

Kellan said nothing as he knocked on the door. Within seconds, the door open and Thomas blinked at us, as if he were expecting us to come. He wore black frames around his eyes and he wore a simple outfit. Jeans and a maroon t-shirt while his long, brown hair flowed down his shoulders. "Ah. I knew you would come to speak to me. About Jesse, right?"

"Yes." I said before any of the other two males would speak for me. "I am sure you know what he has been doing since he got here, right? That he betrayed all of us and has been helping Eva fulfill her plans. He helped Eva kidnap me."

Thomas took in a breath, ushering us inside his home. Inside was more simple and made for a Werewolf. I am thinking that he likes simple things, even when he has lots of money. We sat on the couch that was comfortable while Thomas sat in a chair beside us. "I didn't know I was related to Jesse until he knocked on my door." he started to say. "Jesse was my cousin's kid, along with his sister, Kasandra. I am betting that when she comes of age and starts to shift, she will come to train with me."

"Anyway, the past few months he stayed with me, he was quiet. Which is abnormal for a Werewolf."

"Yes, we all know that." murmured Kellan.
