I took off within seconds to the battlefield, leaving my family and Jesse behind. I did not want to accept, could not accept the truth. If I do, then I would completely lose control and it was not the time for it. Slashing my way through my enemies, I did not hesitate when my hands found their match. I kneeled down in the summer grass, unable to stand any longer as blood and gore soiled the dirt under me. I rested my blade on my knee and took a breath, letting the fire take a hold of me.

"Kala!" yelled a male from a distance away. I turned my head and I knew who it was immediately. The only one who might be as strong as me. Might. Aeson came speeding toward me, taking out enemy Fae and whoever Eva has by her side without looking back. He was my brother and he could not be affected by my fire. He doesn't get burned but I still keep him warm when he gets too cold. He kneeled down beside me, his dark golden eyes full of worry. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?"

My tears slid down my blood-stained face within seconds. "Eva took her." I murmured. "She took our mother and no one knows where she is located. And now I can't control it. It's burying me alive and I need to let it out."

He was silent for a minute, not knowing what to say. But I knew what he was thinking all too well. "We are in a battle, Lama. No one is going to blame you for losing control." he paused. "Just make sure you don't burn your family in the cross fire. My powers are on the brink of letting out without a single thought, too."

I wiped the tears from my face and stood up, even when I did not want to. If my mother was here right now, she would tell me to stay strong. Do not let our enemies see my fear because if they do, they win. And they can't win. Aeson did the same, looking me in the eye to make sure I was okay. I wasn't. Not in a million years would I be okay. "If I let the fire out...if I let the anger that I kept inside out, I do not think I will be going back. I could destroy every last surviving enemy out here within seconds." I closed my eyes for a second, trying my hardest to not fall down again. I've used my powers too much and using it like this makes me exhausted. I knw Ace was feeling the same thing because he had dark circles under his eyes. "I'm already tired. I do not think I can do it, but I have to try."

"Then we try. We use the powers that the Earth gifted us to destroy the ones who have hurt the ones we love. We let the fire and ice from being caged and let it run free." he paused, scanning to see if anyone was coming towards us. It looked like they were preoccupied with everyone else like my aunts and cousins who were fighting relentlessly. I admired all of them, even Meredith. "Otherwise they will kill us all. And we can't have that."

"No, we cannot." I replied. A sharp pain went through my backside suddenly. My eyes widened and I whirled around to see what it was about. To my surprise, it was a Fae with silver hair with blood on his hands. It was my own blood, I realized. I looked down and realized there was a long blade stuck in my torso, my armor ripped and blood coming out of it.

Aeson reacted quickly when I did not. My mouth was opened in surprise, still staring at my wound penetrating my vital organs. Without looking at my brother, I knew he killed the Fae who stabbed me with a weapon of his own creation. Or he used his ice to freeze him to death. I wasn't entirely sure at this point.

All I know is that I was bleeding and I was losing control over my deadly powers. In the corner of my eye, I saw my family. The ones who are left, anyway. My father noticed what happened to me and came running toward me. But I couldn't let him near me. I did not want to hurt him. I placed a hand in the air, telling him to stop while my other was firmly placed on my wound to stop the bleeding. Sebastian did as he was told, tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry. I have to do this, Dad." I whispered. I knew he could hear me. "Get them out of here. Now."

He nodded but he stood there for a full minute. "We will find her. No matter what happens, I will not stop until I find your mom. You two do what you can but be careful." he looked down at my stab wound as Ace stood next to me now. "I've never been more proud of my children. Of my daughter and son. My Kalama and Aeson. No matter how much I want to go over there to see if you are okay, I know you are even though you have been stabbed. Be strong and do not bow down to anyone, even your powers."

Once we knew that our Father managed to get our family to safety, all of the remaining enemies came bolting towards us. "Come and get us!" screamed Ace. It was a threat to the supporters of Eva. The two of us together were a threat and we would make it damn sure that they see that.

We were not only threats, we were a nightmare. Nightmares that would make every children in the damn world cry in their beds because of how terrifying we are. As they got closer to us, I knew what I had to do.

I had to start a fire.
