I realized too late that I was wearing a white nightgown and socks the same color. I was practically naked in front of Jesse and the Gods of Death. Oh, well. I shrugged my shoulders and started listening to the conversation again. Moros, the most fearsome creature in all the worlds, sat in the armchair in front of me. Both of his hands leaned on the arms, his gaze on his mate Verena. She was listening to Jesse talk, along with Scarlett. Both of them sat on the other side of the bed, Jesse a good distance from them.

"Once Ace wakes up from his pretty boy slumber, I think we can see if their powers are back to normal." Jesse said. "Time is of the essence. Elora Miller is missing and we need to find her quickly before Eva does something to her. She's hell-bent on killing her daughter."

"Before you collapsed, you said you might not know if Eva is Elora's mother?" Moros questioned. All of us turned our heads to face him. He was stone cold, his grey eyes terrifying to everyone who looked into them. I was not sure how Verena de Blaire managed to do it. Managed to not be scared of him or run away. But she was as equally terrifying so they make a great match.

I nodded my head slightly. "Yes, I did say that. When we come back, I need to see the family tree of my mother. Though I am not sure if it is correct. I believe there are lots of secrets that Eva, even Margot, is hiding from us. My mother barely knows the history of the Fae, of her own family. I think it is time to unbury it."

"But they look alike?" Verena recalled. "It doesn't make sense that Eva Miller would say that. Maybe she wanted all of you to get your guard down."

I gasped, realization hitting me like a piece of brick. "My mother said something to me a while back. When I got back from being held hostage by my grandmother, she mentioned something that Eva told her." I paused, swallowing as I pieced everything together. "What if, by chance, that Margot is Elora's mother? Both of them are similar in looks and personality. My mother even calls Margot her mother in a way. What if it's true and Margot hasn't said anything?"

"What of Jasper?" Verena questioned. "Is he Margot's son, too?"

I rubbed my temples as there were too many unanswered questions in my brain. I felt Jesse's warm hand on my knee, silently telling me that he was there. Of course, he was. "After all these years, wouldn't Margot tell Elora that she was her real mother?" Moros replied. "Even Jasper. Faeries cannot lie."

"Margot never lied but she avoided the truth." I said, straightening my back again. "That's what we do. Aunt Margot told Elora repeatedly that she and Jasper were like her own children. Even Jax. So maybe that was her way of telling them. What if Eva has this secret over Margot, forcing her to lie about it? What if this is the reason why Eva took away her Fae powers?"

"But why kidnap Elora?" Verena asked.

"All my life, I read about different Faerie lines. Each family has its own power that is unique to them only. I know my mother has healing powers, mine is fire, and Aeson's is ice. I read that our powers most likely come from our mother. But because I'm a halfling, I did not get that trait nor did Ace." I paused, thinking through everything. "What if Margot has that same healing power? Jesse and I saw Eva's power and it's different from my mother's. She can travel great distances in a matter of seconds but she also has a blue light."

"It means that Eva is not our grandmother." said a male voice from the doorway. It was Aeson with his hands in his pockets, leaning on the wall and silently listening until now. I did not realize he woke. "Margot is our true blood. This also means we need to get back to Ambrosia to tell Father. Now."

"Damn, you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "At least say hello to our friends."

"Aeson, it is great you have woken up to annoy everyone here with your moodiness." Jesse remarked. "You did not miss anything. Well--"
