There were very few times in the past twenty years that we took out the car. It was a sleek black mustang that was as fast as Sebastian. It was his favorite as it embodied his very personality. Somehow, Vampires did not like any other colors besides black. Which I do not understand, even when I was a Vampire myself. Whatever.

I was seating in the passenger seat while Sebastian was driving as fast as he could, while Ace was in the back. Sebastian was holding one hand on the steering wheel and the other in mine. He tried to keep me calm, which was not working at the moment. We had to get there or something I couldn't even think about could happen. When I get my hands on my mother, on Jesse, they will wish they didn't hurt my beautiful daughter. My Kalama.

"We are almost there." Sebastian said finally. He has been silent for the few hours we have been on the road and it made me go deep into my thoughts. And sometimes it was not a good thing. Not right now, anyway. "A few more hours until we are in Bucharest." The others were in cars behind us but were slower because Sebastian likes to drive like a maniac.

I turned my head, unable to help myself from staring at my husband. The Vampire King. Ever since I met him, he always wore the standard black and white suit and fancy shoes. But at the moment, he wore gear made for a King and battle. It was all black with armor around it with places to hold swords and knives. He wore long boots that were most likely made to have hidden daggers in them and a protective cape in the back. For dramatic effect, of course. And his dark brown locks were always a mess, most likely because I liked to roam my hands in it when no one was looking. Sebastian's tanned skin and black eyes made my heart burst out of my chest. He was beautiful and I cannot believe he is mine.

His suit was in contrast to mine. It was all white with the same cape in the back, the collar digging into my skin. There were buckles for swords and daggers, which I checked three times before I left to see I did not forget them. My boots were the same as Sebastian's and it was comfortable. Our suits were made by Mab, who wanted to make sure we were ready when war came. She made one for everyone in my family, even Kalama, and Aeson. He wore a similar suit that was the color of both white and black. To know that he was both a Vampire and Fae.

Looking down at myself now, I realized we could have used this gear sooner. All the times we went into fights and battles unprotected. But our suits made sure our hearts were protected at all costs. I shuddered, not wanting to think of what we were headed to do. I did not want to think of the fact that my daughter is hurting and I was not there for her. "Distract me. Tell me something so I don't have to think about Kala in pain." I said to no one in particular. I had to think about something else or I was going to lose it.

My husband cleared his throat, which caught our attention. "You must have thought it was ironic that there was the Vampire Kingdom located in Romania, where there are lots of tourists that come here because of the famous Dracula. But you do not know is that he was actually one of us and he wanted to be famous, which was against the Law. The Law states to never expose our kind to humans. But Dracula or Vlad the Impaler, as he is well known as, wanted to reign terror on humans and to build his own empire. One that was not ours. That is until my parents caught him."

"What happened?" I questioned.

He laughed hoarsely. "Well, they decapitated him, of course. And since then, humans would visit Romania just to see if there really are Vampires living here. If you search on the internet, you will see many humans try and expose Ambrosia. But that will never happen for the walls around the city are strong. And no one dares to go to the woods unless you want to get attacked by the big bad wolf. I have to say, the way they interpret us in the media is hilarious. No matter how much I want to sparkle in the sun, I do not."
