"What did you do to him?" Jirou asked when I came back, I gave her a smile and told her not to worry about it.I walked towards the crowds surrounding Midnight and stood next to Denki. "What did I miss?" I whispered to him. "Oh nothing much, Ojiro and some dude from 1-B withdrew and got replaced by two students from 1-B." He whispered back. They showed us who we were going to fight with and sent us off to get ready. They also set up some games but I didn't participate.
I went outside to stretch my wings and go on a little flight to clear my mind, my first fight would be with Yaomomo. I took a deep breath as I exited the big crowded building to get myself ready, the weather was perfect for a little flying.
Fighting with Yaomomo will be quite fun. I mean, she's quite a strong contender. I'm curious what technique she'll try to use against me now that she has experienced my speed first hand. I stretched out my wings ready for take off until a voice interrupted me (More like scared the shit out of me) "Takami." My head shot towards the voice and chills ran through my body as my wings curled back into their folded position.
"Endeavour, sir. How may I help you?" I questioned politely, I mean as much as I hate him I still have to be respectful. He stared at me for a while without saying anything and I gave him a confused smile.
"I want you to stay out of my son's way." He said coldly, I blinked at him "What?" What the fuck is this old man babbling about? "You heard me. You're distracting my son with your little challenges, do you actually think you can beat him?" He sneered, I raised an eyebrow. Ok, time to get disrespectful.
"What are you on about sir? I mean, if you honestly think that my harmless teasing is hindering your son from winning, then do you even have any faith in him?" I retorted, he had a look of shock plastered on his face, but it didn't last long as it was replaced with an angry grimace.
"What are you trying to imply?" He growled, I shrugged my shoulders "I don't know... Maybe that you don't have a good relationship with your son?" I replied.
"What did you just say?!" He barked, I gave him a little smirk. "You heard me." I teased. "My relationship with my son is none of your business. You are a problem for my son and I want you to stay out of his way mutt." He spat. A chuckle erupted from my throat.
"Well maybe you are the problem, have you given that a thought?" I mocked with a smile on my face, he growled and took a hold of my shirt and held me in a threatening stance. "You little-" "Father? What are you doing?" Shoto's voice interrupted, Endeavor's head tilted to look at his son as he let go of me.
"Aw, don't bite my head off Endeavor, I just expressed my opinion.." I smirked as I brushed over my shirt, Endeavor threw me an angry glance.
"You should be getting ready for your next fight Shoto." He stated coldly, Shoto's face turned sour and he strutted angrily towards his father. "I asked what you were doing. Father." He hissed at his father then turned around to check on me.
"I was just having a little chat with your classmate." He simply stated as if he wasn't just about to beat my ass. I raised my eyebrows and scoffed, Shoto looked even angrier, he turned around and faced his father.
"By 'having a little chat' do you mean insulting her and threatening her? What the hell is wrong with you?!" Shoto hissed, I could sense him getting angrier by the second so I placed my hand on his left shoulder in an attempt to calm him down.
"I did not insult her." He denied "You called her a mutt!" Shoto pointed out, I pursed my lips"It's fine Shoto, we should leave." I whispered "No y/n, I'm not leaving until he apologizes." He stated, I sighed deeply as he turned back to his father.
"So what if I did? Why do you care about this mutation so much?" He spat, I tightened my grip on Shoto's shoulder as I sensed his left side getting warmer and warmer the angrier he got.
"Because I like her damn it!" He snapped, my eyes widened and my mouth opened slightly as I looked at him. Endeavor was as shocked, if not more, than me. Endeavor finally collected himself after a minute and pursed his lips "We'll talk about this later. Go prepare for your fight." He ordered, and with that, he left.
Shoto and I watched his figure disappear into the building. Shoto then turned to look at me, his face completely red. I couldn't tell if it was from anger or if it was from his sudden confession. "I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that..." He muttered, I opened my mouth to respond but he continued.
"I'm sorry about what my father said," "Shoto." "It was uncalled for." "Shoto." "He shouldn't threaten people just because he thinks that they're a potential rival-" "Shoto!" I interrupted his rambling.
"Yes..?" He sighed and looked at me with a look that said 'I'm ready for you to yell at me.' "First off, you don't have to apologize for your father. And it's not like a little threat from that old man will take me down." I winked "Second of all, I like you too." I smiled, he looked at me with a surprised look on his face "Like... Romantically...?" He asked.
I couldn't help but laugh at his bluntness "Yes, romantically... God you're oblivious, I've been fidgety around you for the past two months!" I managed to mutter between laughs. "Oh.." He simply responded and looked down at the ground with a tiny, almost unnoticeable, smile.
My laughter died down and I walked up to him, I placed my hand on his chin and made his eyes face me. "So, where are you gonna take me for our first date?" I smirked, his face turned a deep shade of red.
"I-I... uhm, wherever you want.." He muttered, I smiled. I heard Present mic announce the end of the first match from the distance "Oh.. You're next aren't you?" I looked at Shoto, he nodded. My face drew closer to his and I placed a little peck on his cheek.
"Well, I wish you luck!" I smiled and turned around but Shoto's hand stopped me, he gripped my wrist slightly. I looked at him, "What's wrong? Did I make you uncomfortable?-" "no.." He interrupted, I gave him a confused look "Then what's wrong?" I asked, "Can you do that again?" He asked, "Do what?"
"Kiss me again. For luck. Please..?"
I smiled and leaned in again, I aimed for his cheek, but he accidentally turned making my lips land on his. I was about to pull away and apologize but he put his right hand on my cheek and he pulled me in, his left hand holding mine in a gentle grip.
When we pulled away, we didn't even have the courage to look at each other. That was my first kiss... and I'm pretty sure it was his too.. "Y-you better get going.. Your match starts soon.." I reminded, he nodded and gave my hand a final squeeze as we went back inside the building and went on our own ways, him to the arena, me to the stands.
"There you are y/n! I saved you a seat!" Denki called when I walked over to the stands, I smiled and walked over to sit in the seat he saved. "You missed the fight man! It was crazy intense.." He exclaimed, he then went on explaining how the fight between Shinsou and Midoriya went.
"Holy shit man... I can't believe I missed that..." I sighed, Denki nodded in agreement. "What were you doing anyway?" He asked, I smiled.
"Nothing important..."
(A/N around two years after writing this chapter: i apologies for y'all having to witness that 😭 my biggest regret was making them get together so early on)
