76. 𝘐𝘕𝘍𝘐𝘕𝘐𝘛𝘠

As soon as I got home from my meeting with Hidou, I started working on the serum again. I need to perfect it as soon as I can because I have no time left, I need it to fight this... this war that they're chucking us into. And I need to talk to Shoto, not just about his brother but about what might happen to me, to him, to us. Everything was so great when we were staying home for Christmas, I should've sensed that it would all go to shit.

Nothing good stays good in my life.

I spent the majority of the day in the lab, trying to figure out what went wrong with my replica. Thankfully, I was smart enough to keep the original until I figured out a good recipe to get what I need. After a few doses, and a few trips to the bathroom to throw up, I had managed to replicate the serum. I just hope that this doesn't make me sick if I up the dosage during the fight, but since I'd be high on adrenaline I don't think that would matter. If the cost of me surviving the battle and getting to go home is to be sick afterwards, then so be it man.

My hands shook while I packed away the materials I used, probably from the amount of test dosages I used on myself. It's not the brightest idea but I couldn't really ask anyone for help. No one needs to know that I'm developing illegal drugs in the lab for my own benefit. Quietly I slipped out of the lab, tucking my hands in my pocket to hide the shaking.

I was just in time for dinner so they called me over to sit down and eat. The thought of it made me sick but I didn't want them to suspect anything so I sat down between Shoto and Midoriya and nibbled on the food on my plate. My ears picked up on the conversation between Kirishima and Yaomomo, making my eyes slightly widen. "Yeah we have a field trip tomorrow for our work studies." "Oh really? We have one too!"

The others overheard as well, saying that they also have a trip tomorrow. I could feel my stomach turn, and I'm pretty sure it's not because of the serum. "Hey uh Shoto? I need to talk to you in private after this.." I leaned and whispered into his ear, he gave me a curious look and nodded. "Of course love." The others went on discussing what the field trip could be about, while I sat there, feeling guilty for not being able to tell them, and sipping on my drink quietly.

"Takami, do you have any clue as to what might be happening? It can't be coincidental that we're all going on a trip on the same day." Yaomomo asked me, making me gulp. Oh ass. "No clue really, but Miruko did tell me to get some rest because it might get very tiring." I responded. That's the best tip I can give them without revealing too much. "Well if it is the case that we're all going to the same place then I think we should listen to Takami and go to sleep early today." Said Iida.

Everyone agreed and we started packing up dinner to go to bed. While everyone was busy, I grabbed Shoto and we slipped away to go talk on the roof. I recited what I was going to say in my head the whole way there, but I still didn't know how to break the news about his brother. "Alright, tell me what's on your mind." He smiled. I held both of his hands in mine and looked into his beautiful multicolored eyes. They were the first thing that caught my attention when I first saw him.

"Shoto.. That trip we're going on.. It's not exactly for leisure, and I'm.. I'm not sure that I will survive it without repercussions.." "y/n, angel, what are you talking about?" He stopped me, tilting his head slightly. I took a deep breath and started from the beginning. "The director, we talked this morning, we're going to go arrest a group of villains. They're working with the League too. It's going to be dangerous. I can feel it Shoto."

"You're one hundred percent sure of that?" He asked, I nodded. "Yes. I just wanted to warn you, and tell you that I love you a lot, and no matter what happens I always will.." He shook his head, letting go of my shaking hands and grabbing my shoulders instead. "Listen to me, I'll protect you, we'll protect each other, I'll make sure of that." It was my turn to shake my head. "You can't.."
