"Hey! Are you kids okay?" A paramedic called out to y/n and Shoto, who were still sitting in front of Dabi. The two didn't know how long they'd been sitting there, but they were too exhausted to go find the others so they just stayed together. "Y-yeah.. But he's.." y/n spoke up and glanced sadly at Dabi. "Alright let's get you both checked up, follow me. We'll take care of him." The medic said, and Shoto recognised her to be the same one he talked to after the fight. "I see you found her." She whispered to him.

"Yeah.. I did.."

They walked hand in hand down to the entrance of the school, where everyone was either getting treated or handing over villains. y/n's gaze connected with Spinner's as his head was being lowered so he could enter the police car. He gave a genuine smile. Her heart felt heavy in her chest. She knew that this would be the result of his actions, even if he redeemed them in his final free moments. And it saddened her. But she smiled back nonetheless.

"Birdbrain?" Bakugou called out from behind her, he was slightly bloody and pretty roughed up. "I see they didn't make you go bat shit again.." He said. y/n grinned and walked up to him slowly, before grabbing him harshly and pulling him into a bearhug. "What-" He stopped himself when he heard her sniffle and sighed, giving into the hug. The hug was anything but gentle, but they were just happy to be alive. Even if they could never admit it out loud. "So did you get a new best friend in the league?" He asked when she pulled away. "No Katsuki, you're still my best friend."

She saw Midoriya being bandaged up with an empty look on his face and asked what had happened while she was fighting Dabi. "He.. he ended All for One but.. He wasn't able to save Shigaraki in the process." Bakugou explained. "I see." y/n breathed, staring sadly at the boy. "I.. need to go talk to him." He muttered, y/n nodded. She turned around, only to almost be tackled to the ground by her brother. "Keigo!" She squealed. He grabbed her by her shoulders and examined her whole body for injuries before letting out a huge breath of relief.

"I am at a loss for words!" He shrieked. Despite being at a loss for words, Keigo scolded her about escaping prison and how reckless it was for the next ten minutes. "I'm sorry Keigo, I'll make sure to never escape from prison again when the opportunity presents itself." She chuckled, making him bite his lip to conceal a smile. "You little shit.." He muttered, pulling her into another hug. "I survived villains, I'd like to survive my own brother please.." She wheezed.

"Hey kid, how are you doing?" Keigo asked Shoto, who was standing nearby. "Oh, uhm, I'm good." He muttered, but Keigo wasn't having it. "Come here." He motioned with his finger, and Shoto walked forwards nervously. Keigo smiled at him proudly and wrapped his arms around the boy, ruffling his hair. "You did great." He whispered to him. y/n was smiling at them when she felt a large hand on her shoulder. She turned around to see Endeavor.

"Sir-" "Thank you. For taking care of my sons. And I apologise for the way I treated you. It was uncalled for." He said, taking her by surprise. She pursed her lips and gave him a light smile. y/n hadn't forgiven him, not yet anyway. He'll have to work a little harder for that. But.. she appreciated this. "Apology accepted. Come on Keigo, lets uh, y'know." She muttered, and the two let Shoto speak with his dad in private. "Since when have you been so chummy with my boyfriend?" y/n asked, he shrugged.

"What? He's a good kid." Keigo grinned. "Takami." Aizawa called out, making the two siblings turn around. "Yes?" They said simultaneously. "The- the younger one." He corrected himself. Keigo patted her on the back before flying away. "Wha- traitorous bastard.." She grumbled under her breath. Aizawa walked towards her and she smiled nervously. "Hey... Don't worry my brother already lectured me on how foolish I was to escape- hmph!" Aizawa hugged her tightly, taking her by surprise. "I'll lecture you later. I'm just glad you're alive." He breathed.

"I'm glad you're alive too sir."

(y/n's POV)

It's been a week since my grand escape and the fight. Toga, Spinner and Mr. Compress were all arrested, along with the other attackers. During that time, all the tests on my brain were complete and I was discharged from the hospital. Throughout my time there, I was allowed to visit my old teacher, Nagant. She's currently in a coma, and I'm not sure if she'll wake up any time soon, but the doctors did say that she was able to hear what I said so I spent my days in the hospital updating her on my life and talking to her about all of my classmates.

"This is Shoto, my boyfriend." I said while pointing at his face in the class photo. "That's Katsuki, my best friend in denial. These are Aoyama and Tokoyami, we're pretty close too. Oh and that's Midoriya, he.."

When I got to the hospital, I had many visitors. My classmates came to keep me company, Bakugou bought me a third cactus, and Misao brought Toji to visit me. Toji was very excited about the fact that the villains were defeated, and Misao said that he was just glad that I came out alive.

"We were all so worried. Everyone was sitting by a screen and anticipating new information about what was going on. The majority of our teachers went there to help too. It was so intense." He told me. "Yeah it really was." I sighed. "I watched everything y/n! The way you swooped into the school grounds was soooo cool!" Toji jumped onto my bed and beamed.

"Oh.. They captured that on camera?" I asked, slightly embarrassed. "Yup! It was awesome! I was really scared that you would get hurt. But You promised that we'd be heroes together, and you've never broken any of your promises with me. So I knew that you'd be okay."

I also got to help my classmates rebuild what was destroyed during the fight. Our teachers and other Pro-Heroes, along with civilian volunteers helped rebuild as well. When everything was done, we were dismissed from school until the next term when we'd return as second years. "Come on angel, let's go home." Shoto smiled, holding his hand out for me. I walked away from the school entrance and laced my fingers in his. "I need to do something first Sho." I muttered, pulling him into a soft kiss. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer before pressing his nose against mine gently. "Of course."

We pulled away from each other and I promised I'd meet him in the gardens of his house in a few minutes. He nodded, giving me one last kiss before I flew away. I landed in front of the commission base and entered the building, nodding at Daisuke as he walked past. I headed straight to the secret path through Hidou's old office that would take me to the red room. Opening my bag, I pulled out a bottle filled with lighter fluid and poured it onto the chair that I used to sit in, along with every corner of the room.

U.A. had been rebuilt, a new year was ahead, the villains were defeated, and I was free of anyone's control. So naturally, I had to get rid of one last thing before I turned my back on the past and looked to the future. So I grabbed a match from my pocket and lit it up.

With my back turned towards the room, I threw the match inside and kicked the door shut with my foot, walking forwards without sparing the burning room behind me another glance.

"Here's to freedom and new beginnings."

THE END.
