   Misaki pulled away from the man's grip and ran. "Hey!!" The man screamed angrily behind her and started to run after her, but no human was fast enough to catch Misaki. She ran far ahead and the cold air numbed her freezing wet skin, but her face and tears felt hot. She sprinted to the familiar smell and her mouth spread into a smile as she sensed him coming closer. He smells me! Roku!! Her feet flew over the tree roots of the forest as she ran. Her heart raced and her body begged to touch Roku. To feel the strong warmth of his arms wrap around her tiny cold body. Her lips warmed at the thought of his as she spotted his figure through the trees. Tears ran down her red cheeks and his body came closer rapidly. They lunged for each other's bodies and the cold air dissipated. His big warm arms wrapped around Misaki's body and her cold arms circled around his chest. She wrapped her cold body around his and clung to him as they fell to the ground. He noticed how cold her body felt and immediately started to warm it. They yelled each other's names and Misaki pressed her cold lips against Roku's. They kissed and warmed each other on the ground, yelling each other's names. Then Misaki noticed Roku freeze and she immediately knew why. He stared at Misaki's empty neck. My necklace. T-the man. Wait- is he chasing me!? Misaki frantically looked in the direction she had come from and found the man running toward them. He approached quickly and Misaki could see the golden light of the necklace sway in his clenched fist. "Misaki! Get over here!!" His voice was angry and his first clenched tighter. No!! The necklace!!! He-he's going to break it!! She pulled herself out from under Roku and ran to the man, reaching for his clenched fist. "I'm here! I'm here!! Don't!" He kept his fist clenched and glared coldly at Misaki, then his eyes darted to Roku, who was frozen on the ground. "Don't you say one word. Say or do anything towards that man and I'll stomp it." Misaki gulped and she held his fist as tears ran down her eyes once again and her abdomen pulsed in cold pain. Roku stood and came closer. "Misaki. What's going on here?" He's going to crush the necklace. Please take it away from him Roku. "Can't you tell vampire? She has found a human man her age." "Misaki--" "She can only have one child. So of course she's not going to risk it becoming demon with you. With me, it'll surely be human." No! Don't listen to him Roku!! Please take the necklace away from him!! "Misaki answer me! What's going on here? Why won't you look at me!?" His hurt voice hurt Misaki's heart as well and she clenched her eyes shut. The man's fist clenched even tighter on the necklace and Misaki held the man's fist and her legs bended. She sat on the ground, grabbing the man's fist gently and crying. Roku. Roku please! He's going to break it!! "Go away vampire. You are not needed here." "Misaki! Come here!" Roku held his arms out and Misaki bit her lip. I can't!! The necklace! The necklace!! Roku please understand!! After a cold silence, Roku's arms fell to his side and he looked away. The man grabbed Misaki's wrist and pulled her up to her feet. "Let's go back to the tent Misaki." Her whole body shaked as she forced herself to walk with the man. Roku didn't follow. Roku!! Roku!!! Please help me!! Please! No footsteps followed Misaki. She cried as she was led back to the tent and Roku's smell went away. Roku!!! Roku!!!! Please come after me!!!! The man shoved the necklace back into his pocket and pushed Misaki onto the small bed that was in the corner of the tent. "You're filthy. I will not reproduce with you like this. So prepare yourself for tomorrow night." He left the tent and Misaki was alone. The bed didn't warm around her cold body. There was no warmth. She laid crying on the bed for the rest of the night. Roku!!!! Roku!!!! Then a cold shot of pain hit her lower abdomen and her fingers dug into the bed. "Ow! Ow!! Agghhh!!!" The cold pain ripped at her stomach and clawed through her veins. The tips of Misaki's fingers burned painfully and they pulsed. The center of her back also burned intensely and Misaki found that her fingers were deep inside the bed. Her hearing blocked and she screamed in pain, but all she heard was a monsterous screech. Then her vision went red and she passed out.
