Misaki woke up in the nurse's office. The nurse noticed her awake and walked over to her with a small light. "What day is it? How do you feel?" She flashed the light into Misaki's eye and in her mouth. "Uhhmm....fine. And its...Friday." "Do you recall what happened to you?" "Roku was...biting me..and I passed out?" The nurse nodded. Then she straightened again. "You are very lucky Misaki. Your blood seems to have resistance against vampire DNA." "Huh? What do you mean?" "What I mean is that your DNA matches up to Roku's. You see, when a vampire bites a human, the vampire's DNA enters the human through the saliva. And as the human blood is being sucked out, the vampire DNA replaces it. But turns out that since your father was a vampire, and you turned out to be human, your blood is stronger. So even though your DNA does not take over Roku's, it stops it." Misaki scrunched up her face. "Wait, you mean.." "Yes. Roku could bite you a million times, and you will never turn into a vampire." "No I meant that I have a piece of Roku's saliva in me right now!? Ewww!!" The nurse paused. "Yes...but beware Misaki. If you allow him to bite you too many times, you will eventually give birth to a demon." "HUH???" "Don't panic. It is only the way of your body releasing Roku's DNA from your system." Roku walked in from the restroom in the corner of the room and sat down on a chair next to Misaki's bed. He crossed his arms and glared at the floor. She glared at him and massaged her bandaged neck. "You better apologize." He glanced up at her. Then scoffed and looked away. "I've already received my punishment." Misaki looked at the nurse. "He's had garlic salt poured in his mouth." Misaki almost felt bad for Roku, if he had not stabbed his teeth into her neck without thinking of her pain. "Oh yes. I almost forgot." The nurse turned to a cabinet and pulled out another remote, identical to the one Roku had broken. Roku sneered at it and leaned back in his seat. "This has already been programmed to you two, take care of it Misaki." Misaki nodded. She ran her finger on top of the yellow button. This was her only way to defend herself against Roku's fangs. She carefully slid it into her pocket.
Misaki stood back up and walked out of the nurse, leaving Roku to follow on his own. She walked calmly down the hallway, heading home. She heard faint footsteps behind her. She ignored him. She massaged her bandaged neck. She was not planning on forgiving him anytime soon. Roku's footsteps became louder and soon he was walking right next to her. "Misaki." She frowned. "I have no interest in talking to you right now Roku." "I know I should've been gentler, but Misaki your blood tastes amazing." She turned to glare at him. "Am I supposed to take that as a compliment?" "I guess so, but the point is that once I tasted it, I couldn't stop myself." Misaki looked away. "So what? Do you think you're suddenly forgiven?" By the look on Roku's face, he had. "What're you mad at me for?"
Misaki looked away, ignoring him. "Is this about yesterday? When you confessed your family history to --" "Shut up Roku."
Roku paused. "Is that what you're upset about?" Misaki ignored him. He came closer. "That is what this is about. Why? Because you cried like a baby in front of me?" Misaki stopped walking and glared at him. "Roku stop this. I don't want to talk about it. So I won't talk about it." Misaki walked past Roku. They arrived at their apartment and Misaki shut herself in her room.
The next day at lunch, Roku approached Misaki from behind. "Misaki you shouldn't be leaving me alone so much." Misaki grabbed her tray and started to head for her table. "Oh yeah? And why would that be?" He followed after her. "You're supposed to make sure that I don't attack anybody!" Misaki stopped walking. She turned to Roku with a blank expression on her face. "Did you attack anybody?" Roku paused. "No.." Misaki turned back and continued walking. "Of course you didn't. You would feel bad if you turned a human into a vampire." Roku blocked her path and glared into her eyes. "I bit you." She blankly stared at him. "You knew my father was a vampire. You knew I wouldn't turn." "And I also know that it bothers you that I saw you crying." Misaki frowned. "Why would I care that you saw me crying?" "I don't know, you tell me." His mouth curled into a smile. Misaki's glared at him. "Don't smile at me like that." "Huh? Like what?" "That smile thing you do, if you think you can win me over like you can Lanna, you're sadly mistaken." Roku's smile stretched. "We both know that if I could manipulate you that easily we wouldn't be talking right now. I would be drinking your blood." Misaki scoffed and walked away from him. Roku also walked away, he had somewhere to be. Misaki spotted a guy sitting next to Lanna. She walked up to them and sat across from them. Lanna spotted her and smiled. "Oh hey Misaki. This is Gorru." Gorru turned to Misaki. He had blue shortish hair that matched nicely with his gray eyes and short nose. He had a rather long mouth, but he was still decent looking. He raised his eye brows and examined Misaki up and down. "Hello, Misaki. You are human, right?" Misaki nodded. Gorru stood and walked to Misaki's side of the table. He ran his fingers through her hair. She sat still and looked at Lanna uncomfortably. Lanna giggled. "Gorru here is from the seas, he comes from a place that doesn't have any humans." Gorru grabbed Misaki's chin and turned her face to his. His gray eyes searched Misaki's pale green eyes. "And....what exactly is he doing here?" Lanna pulled Gorru back on her side. "Gorru is my new demon." Misaki looked at the two. "Ohhh" Lanna's eyes separated from Misaki and followed something behind her. "Speaking if demons, isn't that Roku by the tree with a girl?" Misaki turned. She could see Roku's sitting figure almost completely hidden by a large tree. Her eyes widened. She could see a human girl laying against the tree facing Roku. His hair blocked hers and his teeth bit into the girl's neck. Misaki stood and threw her lunch tray to the trash. "That idiot!!"
Roku pinned the girl against the tree. Her curly blonde hair poked at Roku's cheek as he bit into her. She groaned erratically and hugged Roku. He drank only to be disappointed. He let go and pushed the girl back onto the tree. It was the same girl from a couple of weeks ago that had asked to meet Roku during lunch. She was still breathing erratically. "You can drink more. I'm not dizzy." "I don't want it." "Huh?? What? Why?" "Your blood tastes disgusting." "W-what? But vampires are supposed to love human blood." Roku thought of Misaki's blood. He turned back to the girl. "Get out of here. You're useless to me." The girl scoffed and slapped Roku across the face. Her nail cut his cheek. She stood and stomped away. Roku sighed and layed against the tree. His fangs pulsed with the desire for more human blood. He dug his claws into the ground and groaned. Then his nose caught a scent. The scent was familiar and his fangs went hot. He turned and found Misaki. Misaki stared at him. Her frown disappeared and she approached. She crouched down in front of him. "What's wrong? You don't look well." His eyes traveled down to her bandaged neck. "I thought all human blood tasted the same." "Huh? Did that girl's blood taste different than mine?" Roku forced himself to look down at the ground. If he said the wrong thing.... "Yeah, it did." Misaki looked down at the uprooted soil beneath his relaxed hand. His fangs pulsed strongly in his closed mouth. If Misaki saw them..."better different...or bad different..?" Misaki looked at him suspiciously. He looked up at her and his eyes instinctively went to her neck. She shot up to her feet, but Roku's hand gripped her wrist. He pulled her down onto his lap and locked her in his arms. "No!! Let me go! Roku!!" Misaki felt his breath at her ear. "Misaki. Your face is red." Misaki realized it was true. Her face burned. "S-shut up!! Let go of me!" She squirmed in his arms but they didn't budge. She began to panic. He pressed Misaki closer to himself. "Hey Misaki, I'm glad you're my human." She caught a glimpse of his smile and her face burned hotter. He paused. Misaki frowned at the low chuckle that came before he spoke into her ear again. "Misaki, you blushed even harder at my smile." "N-no I didn't!! Let go Roku!" "Ssh Misaki. I'm trying to calm you down." "I'm not going to calm down when I know what you're going to do to me!!" "You're not huh...well then I'll help myself." Roku's breath traveled down her neck. She jumped. "W-wait!! I'll calm down!! Just give more time --" Roku had peeled the bandaged off and his fangs sunk into the bite mark he had left before, reopening her wound. She screamed and clutched onto Roku's pants. Tears were streaming down her cheeks once again. "R-roku...stop it......h-hurts." Her voice cracked and her lips trembled. He drank happily, but slower than the previous time. Misaki resisted screaming as Roku's fangs dug deeper into her neck. She opened her eyes and found the world spinning rapidly. "D-dizzy...Roku.." He understood and took his fangs out. He carefully wrapped the bandage around her neck and licked his lips. Misaki caught her breath and her world steadied. She felt Roku's large hand on her head. She turned to look at him and wasn't surprised to find his beaming smile. She noticed the scratch on his cheek sealed and left no trace. "What're you so happy about?" She asked angrily. "Although I can't get as often or as much as I want, you still do give me it." "What? I didn't 'give you it'!" "Once I bit you, you did allow it though" she screamed at him, still arguing. But in the distance, a mysterious figure stood in the shadows. A small blue butterfly flew in front of him. He glared at it and it split in two, falling to the ground with a small flutter. His mouth stretched to a grin.
