Her legs burned as she sprinted down the emptiness. Sweat slid down her forehead rapidly. She panted heavily as she reached her destination. A loud buzzing rung against her ears and she threw the door open. She stepped in and looked across the room. The teacher sighed. "Go ahead Misaki, sit down." Misaki let out a sigh of relief. She wasn't late. Slumping down onto her seat, she turned to the seat in back of her and smiled at the smallish girl behind her. Her short black hair curled at the bangs that almost hid her big blue eyes and curled at her rosy cheeks. She had silky pale skin and smiled sweetly at Misaki with her perfect teeth. " I missed you Misaki, where did you go this summer?" Misaki crossed her legs over each other and crossed her arms, making a slight pout as she said "nowhere, my step mother wouldn't let me go anywhere alone." "Then why didn't you go with your boyfriend?" Misaki turned to her. "Lanna, don't be a smart ass. You know I don't have a boyfriend." Lanna shrugged, "who knows, maybe you finally found guys appealing during the summer." Misaki scoffed and looked away. "You know me better than that." She nodded, a small smile curling at her pink lips. Misaki looked back at the teacher who had been standing in front of her for a while now. The teacher's red face scowled at Misaki, and yelled "Misaki! Lanna! Get out of my classroom now! You two insisted on ignoring me and continuing with your own conversations. I will not have that kind of disrespect in my classroom!" She pointed a wrinkly finger to the door. Misaki groaned and walked to the door, muttering insults under her breath. Lanna quietly followed behind. In the hallway, the leaned against the white wall of the long hallway and stared at the speakerphone in front of them. Lanna turned to Misaki. "Misaki, are you a lesbian?" "You're mean." Lanna let out a small snort but covered her mouth in embarrassment. "Well you can't blame me. You haven't had a crush since 4th grade, and you don't even remember him." Misaki pouted "So? Its not my fault nobody except you talks to me." Lanna stared at Misaki curiously "So you find guys here good looking?" Misaki avoided Lanna's smug face. "Of course I do. But that attraction only goes so far you know--" Lanna threw her arms around Misaki's neck. "Misaki! There's still hope for your love life! This is great news! You won't die a crazy old cat lady!" Misaki hugged her back, but didn't share her excitement. "Who knows, it might just be that new vampire!" "Huh? There's a new vampire?" Lanna separated to face Misaki. "Yup although he still needs to be assigned to a human." Misaki's mouth gaped. "That poor human!" Lanna nodded. "I know, everybody knows that vampire's humans are always used as blood banks. But hey, if he's hot, I'd be fine with it." Misaki frowned at her as the speakerphone came on. "Misaki Ninjen report to the office. I repeat. Misaki Ninjen report to the office." The classroom door opened and the teacher peaked her still scowling face at Misaki and Lanna. "Go Misaki. Lanna, come in." Lanna sent Misaki a good luck look as she went back inside. Misaki walked to the office as slowly as she could.

She finally arrived and shivered as she walked into the huge freezer of an office. A smiling thin lady spotted her and giggled. "You are Misaki Ninjen, am I correct?" Misaki nodded. The lady smiled even wider and her old wrinkly cheeks covered her blue eyes. "Come with me, I'll explain why you are here." Misaki followed the creepy lady to the very front of the office. The lady pointed a shaky, but very well painted, finger to a tall figure sitting on the office chair. The figure was very....manly from what Misaki could see. He was wearing a black sweater and the hoodie curved over his head. He was facing away and seemed distant as he stared through the large window. "Misaki, this is your vampire, Roku. Roku, turn and greet your human." Roku turned and Misaki gasped quietly. He was indeed very good looking. His hair was spiky and fell around his perfectly tanned face perfectly. But what surprised Misaki about his hair was that it was such a shade of red that it seemed as if flames themselves laid still on his head. His eyes clashed against the color of his hair. They were both a vibrant color of violet. They stared back at Misaki and examines her up and down. Misaki didn't think she was actually good looking, but she knew she wasn't hideous. She had spiky black long hair that stuck up at the bangs and poked at her lower back. Her eyes were a dim green, and she wasn't very womanly, but she had bulges in the right places, though not much. They stared at one another, Misaki obviously attracted to him, until his mouth opened. "I thought I said a 'hot chick'" he scowled at the creepy lady and stood up. He poked the top of Misaki's head. "What is this?" Misaki glanced over to the cup of pens at the desk next to her and then imagined one of the black pens stabbing Roku through the neck. She smiled. The creepy lady only smiled at Roku's insult. "Roku, this is your human." He glanced back at Misaki. She glared at him. "I don't want it. Can I have a refund?" Roku turned to the lady as if he were seriously expecting her to agree. Misaki grit her teeth and grabbed one of the pens. She aimed for his face as her arm swung to stab him. His eyebrows twitched and he caught the pen between his fingers. Misaki pushed it again, but it didn't budge. He grinned. "Superhuman strength kid." Then the tip of the pen popped off and black ink squirt in his face. Misaki couldn't hold it in. She burst out laughing. Roku furiously wiped at his face and glared at Misaki. "That's what you get for calling me a kid!!" She stuck her tongue out at him. His eyebrows furrowed and he also stuck his tongue out at her. The creepy lady tapped Misaki's shoulder. Misaki turned to her. "What?" The lady held something out to Misaki with her shaking hands. "We give one of these to girls who have to look out for male demons." Misaki took the object out of the lady's hands. It was a small round remote of some kind. It was mostly red, but a large yellow button was in the middle. It was very tempting to push. Misaki examined it while the lady explained. "You can use it to transform Roku here into any living thing alive. Such as a small puppy, a bird, a turtle, etcetera." Misaki blushed and pointed it to Roku. "Puppy." Roku opened his mouth to protest but all that came out was a small bark. Roku was now a small red puppy on the ground. He growled and bit at Misaki's leg, but she just blushed and smiled. She pulled at his floppy ear. "Awwwww!!! Adorable!" She squealed. Then repeatedly turned him from a kitty, to a baby seal. After she had her fun, she turned him back into his original form. He looked ready to lunge at her and bite her head off her neck. The lady smiled even wider and put two small identical keys in Misaki's hand. Misaki looked down at them, confused. "Your parents have already been informed. You two will be living together." Misaki felt a cold lump at her neck. "WHAT!!???"

-Author's Note -
This story thingy was actually made quite a while ago, it's been sitting in my laptop notebook since I was about twelve. I always wished at least someone would read it, so I fixed a couple of typos and improved the story a bit. So, just knowing at least one person is reading, makes me happy. I will not however, change my story if nobody is reading it. This story is one of the many which are ongoing. But before I even get the chance to get readers, I have to press that publish button....
