Roku left. He really left. "He looked really angry, and he said he was going to search for survivors, but I doubt he is. What happened in there?" Olive stared at Misaki. Misaki massaged her temples in frustration. "I don't want to talk about it Olive. My head hurts enough as it is." "I see... Well it must've been something important, he hasn't left you alone since his sister was sick." The day the vampire chased me. Misaki blushed. Was I too harsh on him? He was only telling me to stop putting myself in danger. Then Misaki remembered. "I don't give a shit about humanity surviving." Misaki paused. That stupid bastard. He got what he deserved. I'm glad he left! Hail tapped on
Misaki's shoulder. "Misaki, are we safe now that your vampire is gone?" "Of course we're safe." Misaki spotted the vampire again. He was smiling at her. We're safe. We're safe. No one will attack us.
Night came and Roku hadn't returned. Misaki paced around the entrance. Why is he taking so long, what's his problem, leaving me here like this? He can't leave forever. He has to come back. Hail stood next to her. "Misaki, I'm sure he's fine." "Well nobody was worrying." Misaki stopped pacing and sat on the ground. Hail giggled silently as Misaki's face went from a frown, to biting her nails. Then something appeared in the distance. It was something far away, but it was approaching quickly. Misaki squinted her eyes at it. "Hey, Hail, do you see that--" Misaki's eyes widened. Hail was on the ground. Her eyes were wide and petrified, her body shaked, her forehead sweated, and tears ran down her pale face. Misaki stepped closer. "Hail, what's the matter--" Hail grabbed Misaki's arm and ran into the cave. "Hide!!! Everybody hide!!!" Everybody looked around in confusion at the commotion and started to scatter. Hail ran into the farthest part of the cave and threw Misaki into the big pile of baskets. "W-what.." "Misaki, you hide here. Do not come out!! No matter what!!" Misaki nodded, still not understanding, and Hail ran to the nurse, hiding in there. Then before Misaki's thoughts could straighten out, she understood why Hail had panicked. Misaki's body chilled and her heart raced. At the entrance of the cave, stood a tall, beautiful figure. His big angel wings covered the sky behind him and his face was just as mesmerizing as before. Everybody froze and stared at the beautiful man. He walked straight in, his footsteps loud and powerful. He stood for a second, then turned to the nurse. He knows Hail is in there. I have to save her. "Stop putting your safety behind hers"... Roku.. The man stepped closer to the nurse. "Stop putting yourself in danger for her" the man was standing at the entrance of the nurse. His hand reached for the curtain and Misaki burst out of the baskets. They rolled on the ground as the man turned and spotted Misaki. She glared straight into those beautiful pure white eyes. I'm sorry Roku. But I'm stronger than her and I can't stand by while she suffers. The man smiled and walked to Misaki. Misaki's body froze in fear. He approached her and his big hands reached for her. His touch sent cold shocks through her body as he pulled her closer. His voice was cold. "Hello there kitten." Kitten? "You're frozen like a cornered kitten. So that'll be your name." He.... Did he just name me? "Let's go home kitten." Misaki jumped as his arms swept Misaki off her feet and carried her princess style. I can escape him easily like this. I just need to... Huh? My... My body won't move. Her body felt fuzzy and numb, but her mind was clear and stable. This guy... Is he leaving my mind clear on purpose? Or did his powers not work on me anymore? No... He still did this to my body. The man's wings pushed the cold night air under them and they were in the air. No... No! Where is he taking me!? I need to get away! Misaki's body wouldn't respond to her commands and a tear of frustration ran down Misaki's paralyzed face. I....I can't leave yet! I need to apologize to Roku!!
When they finally landed, the man's shirt was drenched in Misaki's tears. He walked across a giant field of wheat and crouched down in the middle. He threw his giant wings forward and the dirt and leaves that covered the ground scattered. A circular wooden door appeared and he lifted it. It creaked slightly as he climbed down a big sturdy black wooden ladder. He closed the door behind them and stood on solid ground. "Kitten, we're home." Misaki's body was released and she threw herself off of his arms. She dashed up the ladder again and grabbed the handle of the door. It burned at her touch and glowed red. Her hand sizzled against it, but she pushed it up. The door was extremely heavy. Misaki couldn't lift it, and she brought her burned hand back. I..I can't lift it! It's as heavy as a car! How am I supposed to lift this!? The ladder shook violently and Misaki jumped. She looked down and found the man kicking the ladder. He looked up at her and held his arms out. Misaki's eyes widened. He wouldn't- the ladder fell with one more kick and Misaki slipped off. She fell into the man's arms and froze. He looked down at the ladder and kicked it away. Misaki looked around the room. It was averagely sized, the size of a regular classroom and had a big white king sized bed in one corner, and a white door on the other. The walls were a faint brown and a fancy tan lamp sat on a rich brown night table in the corner. The lamp connected to the wall. There's electricity here? How?? Misaki remembered that she was being carried by the guy that had set off all of the bombs to kill humans. Why hasn't he killed me? Why did he take me here? He walked over to the bed and dropped Misaki onto it. Her bottom sunk into the soft comforter and she scooted as far away from the man as possible. The man leaned over her, causing the bed to creak. His smile grew evilly. His long fingers gripped Misaki's chin. "Listen to me kitten. There are rules in this house. And you will follow them." Like heck I will. "First, do not try to escape. As you've already seen..." He grabbed Misaki's wrist and rubbed Misaki's burn. She flinched and struggled to pull her hand back, but as always, he was ten times stronger. "Any attempt to escape will result in a burn. Second, you are not to anger me. Do as I tell you to do, or there will be punishment. Third, you will eat. You will stay here and live off of the food I bring you. Do you understand kitten?" "W-Why are you doing this?" "You're the lone survivor." "Huh?" "You are the only human I will spare. And you will stay in the palm of my hand." Misaki felt a shiver run down her spine. "You... You mean.." "Meanwhile you are here, I will kill off all of the humans left in this world with more bombs. You will be the last one alive-" Misaki swung her hand across his face. With the loud slap, Misaki's wrists were grabbed violently and she was pinned onto the bed. His pale cheek reddened and his eyes went cold. Misaki flinched at the pain around her wrists. "Kitten, I will declaw you if I have to. Tell me, do I have to?" Misaki's eyes leaked tears at the pain but she spat at the guy's face. He dodged her spit and sighed. His long fingers grabbed Misaki's chin, holding it so tightly that Misaki was sure it was going to snap off. He looked into her furious eyes for a second, then his mouth twitched. Misaki watched in horror as his teeth grew sharper. "So, I'll use your fear against you, in order to declaw you." Did...did he just make himself a vampire just to scare me? He came closer and Misaki jumped. "Wait! No!! I-i'll be good! I'll be good!!!" But it was too late, Misaki's body went cold as his fangs touched her neck. Misaki screamed.
