Chapter 20 - Risky business

"Why are you blushing princess?" Percy gets impossibly close, a devious smile on his face as his eyes shine with delight. I turn my head away from him before I do something I may regret and take a breath. I feel his lips hover on my jaw, so close to my skin, waiting a beat before he lightly kisses me there. How was a kiss on the jaw having this type of effect on me?

"Are you okay princess?" He asks, his voice deep and tentative. I will have arrhythmia by this rate, I swear.

I turn my head to look at him, his beautiful face and tentative sea green eyes. He puts one of his hands on my jaw, his thumb caressing my cheek. I lifted a tentative hand, resting it around his neck, pushing him towards me.

"Annabeth." He says, jaw clenched. "I want to kiss you so much trust me, but I think you may have had a little too much to drink."

I wasn't drunk on wine though, I was drunk on him, on this feeling that set my insides on fire.

"I need you Percy." I whisper, holding his gaze and trying to make him see. "I love you."

He closes his eyes for a beat, taking a deep breath and lowering his hand from my face. I reach up to him and kiss him lightly on the corner of his lip.

"Don't you love me?" I ask, a little heartbroken while his eyes snap open, a frown on his face.

"I love you more than you can imagine Annabeth."

At that I reach up and claim his lips, as he is a bit surprised but doesn't push me away. I try to deepen the kiss, but he won't let me. I wrap my arms and legs around him as he lifts me up and moves to sit on the bed. My hands grip on his shirt as I try to tether myself to something.

"Kiss me Seaweed Brain." I say and then slightly bite on his lower lip, taking him by surprise and finally properly kiss him. He grabs my waist as he brings me closer to him, reciprocating my kiss fully as he explores my mouth. A slight moan comes out involuntarily as he stops the small make out session.

"Annabeth..." He reproaches, resting his forehead on mine, slightly breathless.

"Hmm?" I croak out.

"You are going to make me do something stupid." He groans... why was that so sexy? Did I really have that much of an effect on him?

"You are the one who will make me do something stupid." I say back, holding his fiery gaze. He falls back on the bed, putting his hands over his face as he takes a few deep breaths. His shirt showed his lower abdomens, while I tried not to drool on him. Bad Annabeth don't objectify him!

"I think I should leave." I gather all my courage and self-restraint to say that. "I am really going to do something stupid otherwise."

His arms flex and he nods, his face still covered by his arms. I was still straddling him, so I moved away while having my legs feeling like jell-o and sat on the bed next to him.

"Can I sleep with you?" I ask as Percy prompts up on a seating position, his face red as a tomato. I can't help but laugh and it seems to disperse the sexual tension a little bit.

"I meant can we fall asleep in the same bed?" I smile as him as he seems to understand and calm down. "No risky business, just sleep." I repeat for his sake.

"You don't make things easy for me, do you Wise Girl?" He smiles at me as he says that.

"Never." I reply as I get up and take the left side of the bed and slide under the covers. Percy releases a breath and goes on the other side.

"I really really want to cuddle you but for both of our sakes, it is better if we get some distance right now." He says as he gets under the covers. "That night gown will be my death I swear." He mutters, which prompted a full blown smile on my face.

"Good night Seaweed Brain."

"Good night Wise Girl."
