Chapter 7 - They called it Nectar, after the godly drink. Cheesy right?

Annabeth POV
I was bored out of my mind. Why? Well mostly because I hadn't done anything all day except for my classes- and as much as I loved learning new things - I had finished early and hung out in my room ever since.

I tried to organize my things, sketched a little just for the heck of it, like the architecture-obsessed nerd I am, as Percy often so eloquently puts it. Speaking - well, thinking - of Percy, where was he? I hadn't seen him all day.

We have been hanging out a lot lately, mostly because we had nothing else to do. Sure I had classes and he would go for runs and train on his sword fighting - he was absolutely obsessed with that thing- but it got monotonous.

I missed Allie. Oh yeah you don't know who Allie is. Well her name is actually Alice but I call her Allie since she hates it. I know, I'm such a good friend. We had grown really close and she had been away for a while, travelling to exotic places and such. I was really jealous of her freedom honestly. Sigh. Last time I heard from her she said she was currently in Morocco but she would return soon and drop by without letting me know even though she knows I hate surprises. I mean what good can come from withheld information?

God I missed her. She was so fun to be around and has this sparkling personality that just showed she cared about you. She was there for me those springs when Percy wasn't and really helped me through. And she was so crafty, and so good at so many things it was annoying. Nah, kidding I loved her and I knew she loved me back.

And she was so cute, with her round sweet face, slightly freckled cheeks- that were only seen on sunny days and she hated them but they were adorable -  warm brown eyes and wavy brown hair, that she never tied up, even though it was the proper thing to do, since she was the daughter of one of my mother's councilmen. She always complained it made her face look huge, even though it didn't. She had so many little insecurities and made the funniest observations about them. I laughed a little at that, shaking my head.

I bet she and Percy would get along. They would tease the hell out of me and would pick on every little thing. On second thought, maybe I should never introduce them. Yep, smart decision.

Before I knew it, the maid called me for dinner. Such a boring day really. So I freshened up quickly and made my way to the dinning room.

Huh, I hadn't seen Percy at all today and that was peculiar. He would come to my room and tease me about my books or sketches, calling me a nerd or something, and we would hang out talking about nonsense really. I would ask him after dinner.

So I walked into the dining room finding everyone but Percy. Where is that boy? I sat on my usual place and waited for him. Sally was the last to arrive.

"Please excuse me for my tardiness." She said as soon as she sat down. "Percy is feeling under the weather. I'm sorry to say he won't be joining us tonight. He sends his apologies to everyone." She finishes with a sad face.

Percy is sick? How? He was fine the other day and showed absolutely no symptoms whatsoever. This doesn't sound right at all.

"I hope he feels better soon." Mother gave a sympathetic look.

"Thank you your highness. " Sally replied in a small voice. Obviously she was very worried about him.

My father spoke up. " Since Percy isn't showing up, we might as well start."

The dinner went by in a blur or maybe that was because I wasn't paying any attention. I was over thinking. I would have to wait until morning to see him again. So trudging up the stairwell, I went up in my room, ready to go to sleep.
I did my before-sleep ritual and changed in my sleeping dress and flopped in my bed. I closed my eyes waiting patiently for sleep to take me over.
