I've got a question that may be stupid considering how long I've been on Wattpad. But the fucking reads on some of my chapters, are sky high, then it goes low again, and then it'll shoot back up on the next chapter. Are y'all missing chapters??? Like did you accidentally skip one, or will it count if you reread a chapter? I could look it up but why do that when i can just ask all of you.
On another note . . . . HOLY SHIT WE'RE AT 14,251 READS. I never thought my book would have made it this far and i am glad that all of you are enjoying it so much. I will continue to work hard on it and complete it. (cause i was kinda feeling like giving up at one point, ngl)
Kaneki's POV
It's dark. Why is it so dark? Did I fall asleep without realizing it, or am i blind?
"Actually it's neither"
"Sebastian?", I questioned, "What's going on?"
"We're inside of your head and I am somewhat surprised you guessed it was me from my voice alone."
"I smelled you before I heard you," I said "Why are we here"
I tried to move and gave up once I realized I wasn't any better off in my head than I was outside of it. My mouth watered and I inhaled deeply. I gulped and tried to calm myself down.
"Is Ciel here too?" I asked
"No, he is not and that is 'young master' to you", Sebastian replied
I was momentarily stunned but quickly regained my composure. He's lying, this is definitely him I'm smelling here with us.
"What are you talking about, I can smell him."
Sebastian let out a small chuckle.
"This sounds like the young master's voice too, does it not?"
'It does,' I thought
"Good," He said, "And all of that was me. You need to think outside of the box more Mr. Kaneki. This is your head after all. You can do whatever you want."
"Well to start, could you brighten the area?", I asked
Sebastian sighed and snapped his fingers. I squint my eyes from the sudden brightness of the lights but they soon adjust.
"You could've done that yourself." Sebastian stated
He walked over to me and looked me up in down, a grin threatening to spread across his face. He covered his mouth with his hand and looked away. Then he asked how I was suspended in midair.
(Kaneki looks like he's on a crucifix or t-posing)
"How should I know," I grumbled
"Well even though we're in your head there are still a few rules."
"Like what?"
He took his hand from his mouth and motioned in my general direction.
"You must be connected to something. Most of the rules in the real world apply here as well. Therefore you can't just be a floating body," He, once again, almost grinned.
"It doesn't feel like I'm attached to anything though."
"That's because you can't see it. It tricks your brain into believing you're floating when your not. I'm sure it felt more real while you were blinded too."
And of course he was right.
"Of course I am."
"Can you please stop doing that?"
"I'm in your head so I know everything you're thinking, and my, you're quite talkative in here."
This time he let his grin show and looked quite satisfied with how much it pissed me off.
"You still haven't explained yourself." I stated
"I originally came here to teach you how to put up your own mental barriers, but I will worry about that after I get you down."
"Is it that troublesome?"
"To the point I would want you down now? Yes. This is why you can't move in the real world. Although I thought it was something more simplistic than this."
'It seems simple enough to me?', I thought
"He made it invisible. I said most rules outside apply here as well didn't I? This is your head he was able to do this in, and I'm not sure if even I could do this...", Sebastian said trailing off
"Sebastian, it's just invisible. It shouldn't be that hard."
"I will not explain myself to you any further, it would only be a waste.", He said, "Now hold still."
Sebastian reached out cautiously and I tried to be as still as possible. He touched the invisible surface of whatever was holding me in place and gently pushed against it. It didn't move, and he said it was good that it was in the "ground" and not suspended from something above. Getting me out would be a lot less painful for the both of us. I didn't really understand what he meant until he grabbed part of my arm.
"GYAAAAAAAH!!!", I yelled out in pain as he tried to pull me away from the surface of the structure.
Sebastian grunted as well and the smell of burning flesh filled the space. He let go and I coughed, finding the smell rather distasteful and my throat already becoming raw from yelling. Sebastian was holding the wrist of the hand he had used to grab me and flexed his fingers. His glove was tattered and burned, and the top layers of his flesh had been scorched.
My skin also felt like it had been burned but I figured it would be best if I didn't try to examine it right now. I had been struggling for a while and nothing happened until Sebastian tried to forcefully remove me.
"Think of it like an alarmed security system. The moment I began trying to get you down the alarm went off. So now I will have to hurry and remove you no matter how painful it may be. The other demon has been alerted and you being still makes it easier for him to get here.", Sebastian said sounding ticked off
He stopped rubbing his wrist and stepped up to me once more. He slammed his foot against the frame with a frown on his face and grabbed me at my sides
"W-wait a minute! Is there any other way?!", I panicked, not wanting him to pull at me again
"This is the quickest way", He grunted as he started to pull
And I screamed as pain ripped through my body. The feeling of my spine separating from my back being the worst.
