"You've got eyes on him?"

"Of course. I've had my eyes on him since the moment they arrived"

Kaneki's POV

I got a sudden chill down my spine and whipped my head around to peer out the window beside my bed. I noticed the rustling of leaves in one of the nearby trees only for a cat to jump down from it. I inwardly laughed at myself for being so weary.

I could only hope that man and his weird "child" wouldn't follow us all the way out here. That would be troublesome since I'm still recovering from their last attack. I'd rather not have to deal with them.

"Somethin the matter?", Bard questioned looking at me quizzically

I glanced at him momentarily before returning my gaze back to the cat outside the window.

"It's nothing.", I mumbled

Only moments later could I feel his eyes bore into the back of my head making me hesitant to turn around again. I then heard the chair move and turned my head to see Bard trying to peek past me out the window as well. I chuckled and let him know that it really was nothing.

I did however ask him to go get Sebastian for me. He said he would teach me how to properly protect my mind, and I expect him to follow through. Bard wished me well and went on his way to go fetch Sebastian.

"I got 'im like you asked", Bard said as he reentered the room

Sebastian and Ciel both entered after him and Bard displayed a big smile before leaving.

"Well you certainly seem happy", Sebastian stated, "What brought that on?"

A look of realization spread over my face and I stopped grinning. Ciel looked over at me as well as though awaiting and answer. Now I have to say.

"Bard said he knew about my eye is all, and he mentioned how it didn't bother him..." I said trailing off while staring into my lap

They were both quiet for a moment but then Ciel suddenly burst into laughter. Sebastian somehow managed to look more surprised than I did. The laughter was short lived, and after wiping away a singular tear he looked at me highly amused.

"Such a fool", Ciel started, "I'm quite sure everyone already knows about your eye. It was on full display when you were being attacked in your room."

'I was probably too focused on not dying to worry about it.', I thought

"No one else has mentioned it though?" I replied

"And as I have said before, everyone here has their own oddities. You're eye means nothing to them." Ciel said with a small smirk, "And if you haven't noticed, it's been red this entire time."

Sebastian closed his eyes and smirked as well. He then walked over and pulled the chair away from my bed and offered the seat to Ciel to which he took. Sebastian then looked up and met my gaze.

"Now", He started, "What was I needed for?"

After explaining why I wanted to talk to him he did his best to explain how to protect myself without actually entering my subconscious. He said the best way for me to learn was to practice it myself. There was no real instruction guide for it. Most anyone can do it, different people just do it different ways.

"I think I understand."

"Good", Sebastian replied

"But I do have a question...or two...", I said looking over to Ciel.

"And what might that be?", Sebastian asked following my gaze

"What is the young lord doing here?"

And once again, a few moments passed before I got a response. Ciel also had a slightly irritated look on his face.

"They got annoying", He grumbled out

'I'm not surprised', I thought

And as for my second question..

"Why did you pull his chair so far away?"

The room wasn't very large to begin with and Sebastian had Ciel's chair pulled over halfway across the room.

"Safety precaution.", Sebastian stated a little too quickly

"Safety precaution?", I questioned

"But of course. You seem to be presenting quite the self control, but I do however find it worrisome how often you tend to drool without noticing"

Shocked, I lifted my hand up to my face and did indeed feel something wet in the corners of my mouth and on my chin. I immediately wiped away the spit and looked over to Sebastian again noticing that his eyes were now fuchsia.

Shit

He was standing behind Ciel's chair and he bent down towards him, placing one hand on part of his left upper arm and the other atop the boy's head. Never once breaking eye contact with me.

"He is mine and mine alone", Sebastian began, "Should any harm befall the young master-"

"Be quiet", Ciel said menacingly glancing back at Sebastian, "And how dare you put your hands on me."

Sebastian's eyes went back to normal and he immediately removed his hands from Ciel and took a small step back to bow. He then asked for his forgiveness for being so crude. Ciel ignored him and continued on almost as if it hadn't happened.

"What's the harm in sharing" Ciel said visibly amused

Sebastian stood back upright with a slight frown on his face.

"I do wish you wouldn't joke like that." Sebastian sighed

I sighed as well, happy to be free of that tension when there was a knock on the door.

KNOCK KNOCK

We all looked over toward it and Ciel motioned for me to cover my eye before letting the visitor enter. It was Angela.

"Oh I'm so happy to have found you! This is where the servants said you may be."

"What do you need Mrs. Angela?", Sebastian asked

"Please, I beg of you. Leave this place at once. It's not safe here, please! I don't want the demon hound to come after you!"

After that Angela screamed and pointed towards the window over the desk that Ciel's chair had come from. The curtains were drawn but there was a clear outline of some sort of dog on them.

"It's the DEMON HOUND!"

I'm back bitchessss. Momentarily anyway. I'l try to keep this up, but this chapter was such a pain in the ass to finish. I had such intense writers block, and it's kinda sad that I've been away from this for so long that I kinda need to go back and reread my own story. Sad right? Yeah I know. If something doesn't sound right let me know. I am extremely tired and do not feel like proof reading. I refuse to make yall wait another day for this chapter to release, so I hope you enjoy it.
