Kaneki's POV

"Please, I beg of you. Leave this place at once. It's not safe here, please! I don't want the demon hound to come after you!"

After that Angela screamed and pointed towards the window over the desk that Ciel's chair had come from. The curtains were drawn but there was a clear outline of some sort of dog on them.

"It's the DEMON HOUND!"

Ciel's POV

Angela screamed and darted out of the room slamming the door behind her.

"SEBASTIAN!"

"Yes my lord!"

Sebastian made it to the window with incredible speed and snatched the curtains open wide. Yet there was nothing to see besides the beautiful night sky. He wasn't quick enough.

"You oaf",  I sighed and walked towards the window, joining Sebastian as he pointed to the ground outside.

Kaneki joined us over by the window as well and was also shocked to see a glowing substance on the ground trailing behind a dog like figure in the distance.

"What a waste of my time. I feel we'll be returning to the manor soon" I turned around and began to walk towards the door of my room, ready to confirm my suspicions about the mysterious glow outside.

??? POV

"You have em in view?"

"Yes sir!"

"Take the shot"

Ciel's POV

"Sebastian, we're heading downstairs so we can-" A gun shot rings out and the sound of shattering glass fills the air.

Before my panic fully sets in and before I'm able to fully whip my head around a second shot echoes through the room and the sound shakes my entire being.

Kaneki's POV

Ciel walks toward his room door as I almost chuckle to myself looking at the the glowing substance on the ground. It has to be glitter or some sort of chemical that glows in the dark. It's almost funny to try to pass that off as ectoplasm or anything else for that matter.

I look to Sebastian and I see him staring out the window but he's not looking at the ground. He's staring off into the distance. I try to follow his gaze but I am unsure of what he is perceiving, especially with the dark of night.

"What's wrong?" I say under my breath to Sebastian.

"Somethings not right" he says flatly as he glares out of the window harder, "Somethings wrong. That patch of night in the distance is off. It somehow looks darker than the rest of the sky, I'm wary of it."

I try to see what he is talking about but as I peer out into the sky I see a glint of light, most likely a shooting star. As I debate on whether or not to try and make a wish a bullet bursts through the window and I only have enough time to move my head out of its trajectory.

The bullet rips through the right side of my neck and tears all the way through, hitting the ground. I spit blood and see stars and suddenly everything feels as though it was happening in slow motion. I've lost feeling in most of my body and can do nothing but watch the other bullet shatter through more of the window.

At this point Sebastian gripped the curtains and was trying to pull them closed with his left hand and tried to shield my body from the second bullet with his right.

It tore straight through his hand before hitting me in my stomach without exiting my body.

Sebastian now has the curtains closed and is snatching the lamp from its outlet. And the last thing I see before the room is plunged into darkness is a look of horror on Sebastian's face as he yells at Ciel to quickly exit the room.

Time finally speeds up again and my body hits the ground with a hard wet thud. As I lose consciousness erratic laughter fills the room and I make the gut wrenching revelation that it was erupting from me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up on a mission lol. I finally broke out of my writers block and writing this chapter felt so good and refreshing after having such a long break of not writing anything. I have to go back to instilling horror in you guys, gotta bang up kaneki every now and then ya know.
I didn't make the chapter as long because of the sheer fact I have work in a bit and I wanted to not push myself too hard to meet my normal word count for each chapter. I think that's why I became stressed about it when this was supposed to be fun.
I wanted uniform chapters and reach my goal of a thousand words for each and after doing that for so long it just became tiring. So now on some chapters might not be as long as others but I want to try to update and finish this story as often as I am able. ENJOY!
P.S. I am sorry for the kinda awkward pov switches I am getting back into the swing of things.
