I feel like this is a given, but i'll say it anyway for this chapter because of it's contents. If you are reading my story and you have not watched all of the first season of Tokyo ghoul, get your ass on an anime website and finish it (i mean this in a nice way). I say this because this Kaneki (if it wasn't obvious from the color of his hair and ability to control his kagune) is the him from the end of the first and beginnings of the second season. The beginning of the story was basically where he had snuck in and made himself a coffee while no one else was there and was reminiscing. Anyway, here you go.
Kaneki's POV
I refused to go to sleep without a candle and Sebastian sitting in the room with me. I'm surprised that i was even able to sleep at all. Sebastian had told me to just go to sleep with the light on, but it would've been too bright. A candle gave off enough light to dust the walls and such around me, and give me a sense of comfort. But it wasn't enough to put my mind at ease.
"Come on Sebastian! Just for tonight at least!", I pleaded
"Ab-so-lutely not", He said firmly, glaring down at me.
I was currently sitting on the side of my bed as Sebastian finished cleaning my wounds and gathering his medical supplies.
I was previously laid on my back on the ground doped up on pain killers as Sebastian did his best to reconstruct my leg, though I don't remember much of it. I would blame the pain killers, but it was mostly because of the blood loss. My leg wasn't healing back as quickly as when i was fighting Yamori(Jason), but it was still doing better than a humans.
He sewed what little bit of flesh he could back together and just lightly wrapped it in gauze so it wouldn't obstruct my bodies natural healing abilities, but it would help keep most everything in place.
"Sebastian, come on. It's just this once.", I pressed on, determined to have him stay as my body guard.
"What happened to the tough quiet boy that appeared before us only 18 hours ago?", He said still glaring at me, "I agreed to take you in and help you because you were a new discovery, and at least seemed capable of taking care of yourself. If this is the extent of your courage and power then i have no use for you."
He turned and walked to the door and opened it, but before he left he looked back over his right shouldering, saying,
"I need not another child to baby-sit "
And he left.

I lay in bed going in and out of sleep. Whenever I was sleeping it wasn't very long, and it wasn't deep enough to conjure any dreams. Though i doubt any of them would've been good. So I laid in bed, watching the sun rise, thinking about what Sebastian had said. And he was right. I don't know what had come over me. I will not lose my sense of self because of this. I refuse to do so. I would not give the person tormenting me the satisfaction. And i absolutely refuse to revert back into the weakling I once was.

"You're staying here." Ciel said
I stopped packing my bag for a moment to look up at him. I glanced over at Sebastian as well before resuming what i was doing.
"I am going" I replied, focused on my suitcase
"I said you are not", Ciel said. This time with more authority.
"I'm fine. I can move around a lot better than before. I'm going, i'm sure I could be useful"
"You. Are. Crippled. You would do nothing but slow us down. Just stay with Tanaka and watch over the manor. That would make you plenty useful." He said with a sigh
"Houndsworth sounds interesting. Besides, I still have my kagune, so i'm more mobile than all of you."
"You littl-" Ciel started, but Sebastian took over.
"I don't think you fully understand your current situation, Mr. Kaneki. I am impressed with how well you've been managing your hunger, but we've not forgotten what you told us. The other servants still don't know what you are as well."
I froze in the middle of putting a blouse in my case. I sighed and finished packing it in, smoothing out any wrinkles and closing my bag. I turned to face Ciel and Sebastian and bowed my head. In doing so, I almost lost my balance on my left foot and softly placed my right hand on the side of the bed to keep me steady.
"I won't be a nuisance. I can control it for a while longer, I swear. ", I said as i stared at the floor, not ready to back down
"We would be fundamentally putting everyone's life at risk if we brought you along." Ciel cut back in, raising his voice, " It's not worth it. You can barely even stand. It would be irresponsible of me as the Queen's Guard Dog. You're staying here, and that's final."

3rd Person POV
"Hey, Mr. Kaneki, Look out ova there! Thas a funny lookin tree don't ya think!" Mey-Rin hollered in excitement as she looked out over the terrain of the land near the town of Houndsworth.
Kaneki glanced over his shoulder to the land beyond and smiled, nodding his head and making Mey-Rin turn redder than a tomato.
Kaneki had successfully convinced them to bring him along. It was almost too easy after Ciel tried to mention responsibility. Kaneki had retorted that if he was truly being responsible that he wouldn't let him stay at the manor with only Tanaka to look after him. The manor was just on the outskirts of London as well. Surely if he were to go on a rampage it wouldn't take him long at all to get there.
On the other hand, if Kaneki went with them Sebastian would be able to stop him swiftly. And if there did happen to be a few casualties, it was in a nowhere town. Who would really find out about it? No one would believe it.
Still, Ciel was pretty furious once Kaneki got done proving his point and stormed off to the carriage before everyone else.
Kaneki thought about letting the others know what he was. Its not like there was a need to be scared of him and there aren't any CCG to be worried about. Ciel had mentioned when he first arrived that everyone had their own quirks about them that made them "weird" or unique. But so far the only thing he's noticed or found out, was that Bard used to be in the military.
They hit a bump and Mey-Rin almost fell over the edge of the cart, and would have done so if it weren't for Kaneki grabbing her and sitting her down. The cart stopped shortly after and he looked up to see the town coming into view.
"We're here"
