Aaliyah
Three Weeks Later...

I'm so fucking excited right now!

I giggle as Rashad paces around my room with his hands on his head and I continue to watch him through my vanity mirror as Janet, Rebbie, Latoya and Crystal are dressing me up, he's probably suffering right now. Latoya has my clothes, Janet has my face, Rebbie has my colors all picked out and Crystal is doing my hair. Bianca's here too, but she's sitting on the bed with a very cheerful baby Devon.

"Liyah, you have gorgeous hair like your brother." Crystal compliments and I giggle.

"Thanks Crystal. You're so pretty and such a sweetheart. I'm just glad my brother has found a girl I actually like." I say simply then blush as Rebbie, Latoya and Janet all speak simultaneously.

"Me too."

We fall out in laughter and as soon as they're finished working on me, they swarm Bianca and baby Devon.

Of course wherever Bianca and Devon are at, Devante's not too far behind.

He soon come shuffling into my room with a baby bag on his shoulder and he looks like the happiest dad of the century. He strolls over.

"Alright ladies, step away from the three week old baby. You might get him sick."

"Oh Devante!" I scold playfully and all the girls start to whine, but due to his glare, they back up. Bianca and him share a few kisses before he sits on the bed next to her and admire his son.

Devante is seriously such a great dad and it's so satisfying to know him and Bianca were able to make this right.

After they had Devon, Bianca couldn't deny of moving into his apartment any longer. He definitely wasn't having it. So he humored her family the first week and stayed at their house, but after that first week, they were moved into Devante's apartment with baby Devon, starting their little family. I'm suddenly shoved towards my room door exactly when Michael is walking in. He's in a nice button up shirt and dress pants, a lot like Devante is and then we try to greet each other like most couples would, but my ass is swatted from behind.

"No! Ignore the hot boyfriend and go get in your clothes!" Latoya snaps as I'm still in my robe. Michael grins and moves aside, but before I leave out, I quickly scoop up my envelope full of graduation tickets and then take my clothes and hurry out into the hall.

My heart is slamming as I approach my dad's bedroom. He's not home, but I know he comes back for lunch around noon exactly. My graduation ceremony doesn't start until 1:45 and I'm hoping that he will consider coming.

This will be the making or breaking point for us.

If he comes, we can work out our problems but if he doesn't, it's really destroyed and there's nothing we can do to fix it. I shakily naughty and unfold the envelope, taking out a crisp ticket and setting it gingerly on the huge king size bed. I remember when I use to come in here and jump on this bed, upsetting my dad of possibly interrupting my mom's sleep, but much to our surprise, she'd always roll over and say it was the best part of her day.

Being awaken by her body pounced on by a three year old.

I smile happily and dab at an escaping tear, then I turn around and gasp as Rashad is leaning against the door frame, smiling softly at me. I suck in a deep breath.

"I want dad there. I need him there." I say sadly and he nods.

"I know you do. Did you tell mom about it?" He asks and I laugh breathlessly.

"I'm hoping she's already known. Some days I'll feel so nervous and suddenly it just go away. I think she knows. I think she's here too because I prayed to not start my period today." I joke and he makes a disgusted face expression, but we share a laugh.
