Aaliyah

"Did you call the doctor?" The head nurse asks the helper nurse and she nods as they stand back and watch Katherine slowly bring Michael out of his coma. He's twitching his eyes hard and looks to be in pain, but he calms down as the doctor comes in with another nurse and she walks over to his water bag, then injects something into the small needle entrance along the cord. Michael's face relaxes and the doctor grabs his hand and speaks firmly.

"Alright, if you can hear my voice, squeeze three times." She says and then nods her head to us when he does it. I smile so big along with Katherine and then the doctor continues.

"If you feel numb now, squeeze two times." She looks at us and then nods, indicating that he did it.

"If you will try to open your eyes for us, squeeze once and then try it." She nods in assurance, lets his hand go and steps back. He looks to be trying, but he can't do it. His head shakes no and the doctor speaks again.

"It's okay if you're too tired, just relax. It'll happen when it does, but welcome back. It's great to see activity from you." She looks down at his chart, starts to scribble on it and Katherine sighs happily.

"Oh Michael dear, it's so good to see you moving." She croaks and a faint smile touches his lips. She then walks over to me and hugs me hard.

"This is great, isn't it?" She asks and I smiled happily, but nervously.

"Of course it is." I say and then freeze as Michael's eyes suddenly pry themselves open and he instantly closes them.

"Aaliyah..." He says like the sleepiest person ever would and I shuffle closer. He opens his eyes again and looks to be struggling to keep them open.

"Aaliyah... I am so sorry." He mumbles and I smile faintly.

"You should be for scaring me you brave idiot." I run a hand through his hair and he breathes shallowly.

"No, I mean for-"

"For scaring me with your accident..." I trail off and he looks at me with confusion on his beautiful face. His mouth is set in a frown and I give him the 'not now' look as the helping nurse is all in our mouths. He looks reluctant to let this go, but he does and I'm thankful for it. Mainly because I'm still not sure how I'm going to tell him that I just don't like him, I love him. Katherine smiles at me and steps out the room while dialing a number in her phone, probably letting everyone know that Michael is awake. I go to walk away from, but he weakly grabs my hand.

"Please don't leave." He grunts and I blush.

"I'm not going anywhere. I promise." I say and then bring his hand up and kiss it. He gives me a small smile and the doctor giggles.

"Lots of love is great. Michael, I'll be right back with some updates and medication schedules, alright?" She asks, but doesn't wait for an answer and just leaves. Not too long after, the nurses leave after her and Michael peels back down the thin sheet to his waist and stares at his gunshot wounds. His eyes close briefly.

"Damn." He tries to touch it, but I slap his hand away.

"Stop. Don't mess yourself up even more. Just, stay put... you really scared everyone. What were you thinking?" I asked and he opens his eyes.

"That he couldn't get anywhere near Janet. That's my baby sister. She doesn't deserve what he was trying to give to her. I honestly didn't think he shoot me though." He breathes heavily and I frown, then open my mouth to say something, but the door swings open and loud sobs fill the room. I don't get a chance to turn around, cause three figures trot past me and swarm Michael. Janet is hugging his head tightly.
