she started shaking in fear. making eye contact with jay, whose mouth was bloody. he held someone in his arms, who was lifeless. she shook her head and thought she was hallucinating. but no, indeed she was not.
"what are you doing..?" she asked. jay put the lifeless body on the floor and looked down with guilt. he wiped off the blood that stained on his lips and sighed. "now you know." jay huffed. "why didn't you tell me earlier?" she gulped.
"we were afraid to scare you." he looked down. "you could have told me earlier. i wouldn't have been scared then, you've made me even more terrified." she glared and ran into her room. jay tried running after her but he stared at the dead body.
"why did i have to be so stupid?!" he complained.
ahnjong locked herself in her room and leaned against the door. she was close to bawling her eyes out, but why? she was asking herself the same thing. why didn't they tell her sooner?
ahnjong was afraid of living with them. they have done everything for her but ever since she had come across that wicked scene, she thinks they're a threat. sure she likes vampires but for them to be showing their true selves like this, scared her.
a soft knock sounded from her door. "w-who is it?" she stammered. "jake.. and niki..." he gulped. "why did you come here?" the girl asked. "to clear things.." jake spoke. she stood properly again and unlocked her door, letting the boys in.
"what." she sighed. "we're sorry for not telling you earlier..." niki apologized. "you could have just told me you were vampires earlier. it doesn't feel normal talking to you anymore." ahnjong sighed and went over to her bed. "it wasn't easy.. we thought you'd run away or something."
"i guess i could say i forgive you, but this question is ringing in my head..." she looked at the boys. "did you kill my parents?" she raised a brow. "w-what! no! t-that's absurd..." niki stuttered. "are you sure?" "most definitely! we aren't that cruel..." niki gulped.
"alright, i'll believe you, for now." she smirked. niki blushed at her sudden smile and looked away. jake chuckled and held the door handle. "should i leave you two alone or should i take this tomato faced boy with me?" he held nikis shoulder.
"let him stay. i just wanna chat with him." the girl giggled. jake nodded and headed out of the room. "sit down, it's not normal for one to be standing while the other is sitting." she pat her bed. niki sat down and nervously chuckled.
"what.. did you wanna talk about?" he asked. "not much. the book is really interesting though." "right? did you get to the part where the girl almost gets hit by a car..?" the boy hesitantly questions. "in fact i did. gosh, she deserved it though.."
"how come?" "the way she treated everyone." ahnjong shrugged. "true...i guess you don't feel bad about your parents, do you?" "pfft no, they ruined my life do you think an apology is gonna help it?" she asked. the boy shook his head.
"exactly. i don't give anyone second chances. people who i've given second chances have hurt me even more." she looked at the book. "not even us?" she thought for a while. "if you dare to hurt me on that second chance i'll end your life no matter if you're a vampire." ahnjong glared.
he surrendered and chuckled. "don't worry, we won't hurt you." niki assured. they continued to chat until sunoo had called them down to eat.
"it feels different eating now." she shivered. "just because you found me devouring a human?" jay raised an eyebrow. "psh, no....maybe?" ahnjong chuckled. "oh come on. we can still eat regular meals. just because we're vampires, doesn't mean we're any different from you people."
"even if it has garlic-" "don't tell me you believe in those stupid myths." sunghoon rolled his eyes. "i did up until now. i was just about to stuff a few cloves of garlic into your cabinets." she teased. "hahaha. very funny." jay sarcastically toned.
"niki hasn't been talking. are you okay? you're usually so talkative." sunoo questioned. "h-huh? i'm fine! i'm just... deep in thought...?" he hesitated. "he's probably thinking of a-" jay slapped his hand onto jungwons mouth.
"at least say it in our link, dipshit." he whispered. "are you thinking of ahnjong~?" jungwon smirked. "noo!!!!! don't think of it that way...." "be honest." sunoo glared. "i already told you, no." the youngest rolled his eyes. "we'll take that as a yes." sunghoon teased.
niki quickly ate his food, trying to finish up as soon as possible.
"how could they find out anyway.."
jay snickered and ate his food. "you keep forgetting that i can read your mind, kid." he smirks. niki perks his head up and widens his eyes, blushing. "thanks for the information, jay." jake smiled. ahnjong sat and ate, clearly confused.
"sorry for confusing you, ahnjong." heeseung apologized. "it's nothing. i'll get used to it some day." she reassured and ate in silence. "i have a question." ahnjong looked at them. they raised their heads to look at her and nodded.
"since you're not sensitive to garlic, that means you aren't sensitive to sunlight either?" "no, those are stupid myths." niki blurted. "ohh, i see. so you won't be sensitive to the holy cross either-" "now you're talking about demons and possessed people." jay sighed.
"are we done eating?" heeseung asked. all of them nodded. "give me your plates, i'll wash them." ahnjong insisted. they handed over their plates and left ahnjong alone, thanking her before leaving the table.
she went over to the sink and washed the dishes. someone interrupted her as she was halfway done. "ahnjong.." nikis deep voice sounded. "hm?" she responded. "i was thinking..." he gulped.
"can we hangout? just the two of us.."
