"How about McDonald's?" Meg whined when she couldn't agree with Wiggy on where to order food from.
"Oh, yeah, I could eat some chicken nuggets," he laughed quietly and placed their orders to be delivered. "When did you finish the whiskey!?" Wiggy burst out laughing when he noticed the now empty bottle sat right next to Meg's thigh. Wiggy's bedroom was messy, but he would rather call it an artistic, controlled chaos rather than a mess. Dozens of Polaroid pictures were taped to the wall above the boy's bed, including the one of Margaret that he took a few days before.
The two were sitting on the floor, both their backs against the cold wall. Talking about everything and nothing, they didn't even notice how much time was passing.
"I have a proposition," Wiggy changed the subject suddenly. "I know where Peep hid his tequila."
"I can't say no to that offer!" the thought of more booze made her cheery. Wiggy told the girl to wait for him and then left the room, only to come back with a tequila bottle in his hand and a huge smile on his lips. "Why's there a note? What does it say?" Meg laughed, when she noticed a red post-it note taped to the glass.
"It says 'fuck off, Nate'," he smiled, opening the bottle.
"Who's Nate?"
"Me."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
And after that, they just laughed like crazy, only telling each other jokes and funny stories to make them laugh even more. Their fun continued and neither Wiggy nor Meg heard the door bell ringing. But Gus did, so he went to answer it and picked up a McDonald's bag from the delivery guy. His first thought was that Margaret ordered food for both of them, but then he heard the noise coming from Wiggy's room and decided to check with him first.
Meanwhile, the two friends were still talking and passing the tequila between each other. A soft knock sounded on the door and Nate just opened it without even getting up from the floor.
"Did you order food?" Gus asked the clearly drunk Wiggy, who just nodded in response. "Is there some for me?"
"No." A stern, short response came from Meg, and it caused Peep to notice the girl. He thought she was in the bathroom or something.
"Why are you here, boo?" no answer. "Wigs, why's she here?"
"Because fuck you, that's why!" he slurred angrily and closed the door after snatching the bag from Gustav's hands. Margaret laughed loudly at Nate's words and grabbed the fries he was handing her.
"Guys..." Peep came back into the room with a sigh. "Y'all are hella drunk."
"No shit, Sherlock," the redhead mumbled and rolled her eyes. "Don't mind us, go back to your girlfriend!"
"She left. She's... Layla's not my girlfriend." he shook his head. "What's the big issue, anyway?"
"You left me alone! Outside, Gus! Barely ten minutes after we kissed!
"You what!?" Wiggy looked at Meg with wide eyes.
"You said it didn't mean anything!" Gustav said at the same time, trying to defend himself.
"Well, she was obviously lying!" Wiggy shouted, his words slurred. He was so confused, they kissed? Why would they do that? Apart from the obvious tension between them, of course...
"What he said," Meg agreed with an angry huff, her nose scrunched when she looked up at Gustav. "You should've told her that you have a guest over or something..."
The pain in the girl's voice was evident and it made Peep feel extra guilty. He knew that what he did was wrong, but he couldn't just tell Layla to leave, right? Of course, he could. She'd happily come back running to his bed if he just told her to come over. Gus sighed and slightly rubbed his forehead.
